Question about Professionalism?

Hello fellow members of Sythe,

I am planning on starting a service selling GP on The Runescape markets of Sythe at a low cost (probably around $.40/m to get vouches) but before I try to get well known, I need an opinion from some other members. I realize that most sellers have nice names, one word or two words with no added numbers or unnecessary letters thrown in. My question is: Do you think my name is unprofessional? It's my first name and then 5 letters, 15243. Do you think that looks sloppy or is it fine? I want to know now before I get more vouches and all that, so I can make a new account.

Some of the biggest traders on sythe have names with numbers, punkerpunk13, kevin001, jevon001. If you are good at what you do, people will remember your name.

That being said, you're at an early enough point in your career if you want to pick a new name, so if you're still having doubts, just make a name you're happy with

 

Name doesn't matter at all. To be honest my name means absolutely nothing lol.

I know you guys said it was unnecessary, but I just felt like this would be a better move, plus I only had two vouches so I didn't have much to lose.

be yourself. don't copy what others do. plus if you're a legit business trader, people will remember your name and always come back to you.

You have an extremely well recognized name. Same with Snow Patrol and R2Pleasant. I DO in fact believe that the name matters.

 

A career on Sythe can be very rewarding, look at r2pleasent.

Have fun man, and by the way, don't be worried about the little things like names. Most of us here are underage, and don't really care.

Be more careful about scammers and such.

 

If you donate a lot and make your name a custom image, it wouldn't matter the name tbh.

Name has something to do with it, in my opinion. Would you look at the big companies of the world like Apple and Microsoft with the same eyes if they were called Microcomputerleague2000 and WeLikeToGiveYouTouchTechnologyBeforeEveryoneElse? Probably not. Of course, this is the interwebz where numbers and silly names are far more common, but just some food for thought.
