A Spoiler Button

i think it would really help to clean up threads and make massive threads smaller

 

Used to have it, was removed, probably for a good reason

 

There's really no point in having one... I certainly don't want to have to go through the extra step of un-spoilering posts that I'm trying to read/moderate with every thread that I open

 

Sorry if I'm getting off topic but, what exactly is a spoiler button :huh:

 

It's not off-topic, but here's an example.

-Something about a movie- "Spoiler" You would click on the spoiler button and it would reveal the words.

Basically for people who didn't want something to be spoiled, they didn't have to click on it.

 

i didnt know we used to have one "/ but i mostly want one to shorten my threads as ive got a few ebooks to sell in one thread

 

Couldn't that be used to our advantage?

And if we used to have one, does anyone know why it has been removed?

Unless there is a good reason why it should be removed, I support.

 

I would really support this. Every forums should have this bbCode implanted.
Can save space, hide stuff that shouldn't be seen etc.

Unless there is something negative about it I can't seem to notice...

 

thanks and also maybe we could have a option in our settings that auto toggles spoilers? so if we have i turned on, then spoilers are automatically opened when we go on the thread ? :idea:

I support, I've never seen anything negative come out of this.
I have accounts on a vast amount of forums that have them. Nothing bad comes out of it.

Saves room on posts and many more pros.

Support, I remember trying to add spoiler tags to some of the topics I made when I first joined. Can't really think of any negative side effects of enabling spoilers either.

No support. I've seen it on another forum, and it's just abused everywhere. Even signatures and such. I think this would only cause abuse of it.

 

It would be good for things like hiding your vouches on a thread, to shorten the page. If someone wants to see the vouches, they can just click the spoiler button. This means people don't have to scroll through 100s of vouches just to get to the replies. Full support.

 

No support, it just makes posts more annoying to read and I can see the problems with people having to many in their signatures avoiding the limit.

 

Your reasons make absolutely no sense, how do they get abused?
How is it annoying? Just saying it's annoying doesn't explain anything.

 

Support, but there should be a limit of 3 at most. MohtasaUnique has a point.
