Can someone list out the part names for me?
I don't have access to a computer for a bit and it's a pain on an iPod.
I'll give my input if someone does.

That's an interesting case, never seen anything like it.

I suggest not paying for windows (inb4 haters), and in my opinion an $80 CPU cooler is overkill, unless of course money is no object.

I only looked at some of the stuff but blindkilla is right.

the psu is overkill and spending that much on a case is just dumb. Rather put that money into ram or an ssd

edit: and buying an os is another waste.

Rather spend $80 on a cooler than have Processor die in 3 months and spend $350.
The psu i didn't choose myself, someone else wanted me to. Idc how expensive case is. Its top of the line and lasts forever. Plus it has plenty of rooms for additional upgrades. Already getting 16gb of ram, dont even need that much. And ssd's are a pain in the ass to me. So i choose not to get them. How else can you get w7 ult?

Sounds like you should be getting a $500 video card then.

I've only ever used the standard fan that comes with CPUs and never had any processor problems.

    Sounds like a waste
Thats usually what i use but might as well be safe. Never seen one review with new i7's where they dont have overheating issues with stock heatsink.

Said that about the case but since you can't read maybe you should consult someone about that.

They don't as long as you dont use the stock heatsink :)

I know you said that about the case, if you're going with an overpriced and top of the line case then why not do the same with the whole computer ie: video card

Very nice. I have the same RAM but I have 3x4gb sticks. I also suggest going for a liquid cool rather than the air cool. Especially if you have any plans on overclocking. Liquid cooling is just as easy to install and it's a lot more efficient.

Edit: Also, that tower is amazing. Just wanted to throw that in there.

What everyone is trying to tell you about the video card is that it's mismatched with everything else. You're going all out on everything except for a video card, which imo isn't very smart. I mean if you just play RS or something, is the other stuff even necessary? There's nothing inherently wrong with a GTX 460, and it'll play low-mid end games decently, but you're going to hit a GPU bottleneck a hell of a lot sooner than you will a CPU bottleneck with a 2600k vs GTX 460, so it's kind of pointless + a money drain. Best route imo without really effecting the budget much to have a more balanced system is to downgrade the CPU to a 2500k (-$100), downgrade the PSU to a quality 750w or 850w (your current setup probably pulls 500w MAX), downgrade the motherboard to something lesser... you're paying $300 some odd dollars on a Maximus IV and probably not going to use ANY of the features that make it cost that much, -$100-$150. Unless you bot a ton, go with 8GB RAM because there's no point in more than that otherwise. The case is sexy as hell, but the 800D is in the same price range and more practical if you want to do water cooling. I know last night when we talked you were interested in that, so that's there. The HAF X is probably better airflow too, but don't quote me on that (and it's much cheaper). Neither are bad cases, nor is the one you picked, but IMO function over form. You could pirate W7 Ultimate as well, though if you want the legal version go for it (I just install a burned copy, then buy a legit key from a reseller for much cheaper, it's still a legal copy of Windows that way).

All in all you could easily save like $500-$700 on this build for things you really don't need/won't use that could be put towards either other aspects of the build (GTX 580 / HD 6990 perhaps :))

Either way it's a great build, just my 2c.

The NH-D14 is actually really good. The Silver Arrow and that new cooler from Phanteks or w/e (forget the model number, it's similar to the Noctua though) are the only two air coolers that can give it a run for the money. Closed loop cooling systems are shit, avoid 'em like the plague. To get better than the NH-D14 he'd pretty much have to go custom, which is pretty expensive (Rasa kits are priced decently, but still like 2x the price of the Noctua)

Only reason i want the case is because i looked at some videos on it... now i cant stop thinking about it
I know its the whole reason i decided to build another one lol. Wanna pm me how to setup liquid cooling? :)

Gonna talk to you on msn again. Your too good at this shit.
Dont really care. Im getting the case even if it was $500. Its sexy as fuck. I was actually looking at the gtx, i just didnt really know which one to get. I just threw in my old graphics card, wasnt really 100% sold on it either lol.

Change the PSU, get a Corsair HX/TX series (650-850max).
Get a better GPU, a 560ti is a wonderful card for the price.

If you're not planning on OC, the K series of processors isn't really worth it. If you are, the DH-14 is an excellent cooler. If you want a closed liquid cooling system get an H70-80. If you want to build your own custom loop you can PM me and I can help you out with that.

Ps. get the HafX instead :)

Try looking around a benchmark site or two to see what's the best bang for your buck. I usually use Passmark for CPU's and GPU's.
