    Disputing Ban Evasion: buysell

    Hi,

First things first, I fully admit to evading a ban and breaking a rule. However, I'd like to make a case as to why the term of my ban should be shortened.

My account was banned several years ago for breaking one rule or another, if I remember correctly I'm fairly sure it was issued for an attempted scam. I also acknowledge that.

My argument is two pointed - I ask the reviewer to look at both my flawless record on this account in addition to the vast length of time in which I've maintained that flawless record. I have no need to make unfounded claims about my change in character from a childish teenager to an adult - the proof is right in front of you.

Technically, yes, I broke a rule. Two, really; the initial rule violation and then the evasion. I feel that while the ban was issued within the rules, some discretion is also integral to an effective moderation system. The ban evasion rule was created so the moderation team didn't need to wait around until a known scammer struck again before banning them. I think I've clearly shown over a multi-year period that I am not the intended target of such a rule.

So I ask of you in light of this: if not a full revocation, then a shortened length to my currently endless ban.
