Should Dicing Be Allowed on Runescape?

Hey guys,

So I've been thinking, "should dicing be allowed on RS servers?"

My reason being, it is gambling.. Gambling being 18/21+ Runescape being 13+.

It exposes underage kids to gambling.

What are your thoughts?

 

By that logic, the duel arena should not be allowed in RuneScape.

By that logic, the Gamble option for Barbarian Assault should not be allowed in RuneScape.

By that logic, the Gamble option for Soul Wars should not be allowed in RuneScape.

I'm going to stop now, but you get my point. Worthless discussion lol.

 

You should realize RWT is illegal to RuneScape, thus making the money being used in game absolutely valueless.

 

The duel arena is wagering, there is an element of skill involved, therefore can be passed, whereas a roll of a dice has nothing but luck to decide the fate.

The gamble option in the events, always gives you something for your points, the points are not valued at a certain price there for the prize would be a bonus whether is be a bone or a d chain.

It's not so much about the virtual money involved, it's the morale's that it's teaching underage kids.

 

It's not like it is going to change.

 

That's why I asked for your opinions

 

Better have kids exposed to gambling now rather than when they're older and actually have money.

Kids - Gamble 1 Mill (.50 cents)
Adults - Gamble 1 thousand

 

If it were to teach them anything, it would teach them the dangers of gambling and the kind of attitude in game would not spill over to real life.

Imagine how many kids are full-on addicted to RS and love their pixel bank. Then imagine them going and losing some/all of that dicing.

They will get such a shitty, remorseful feeling that they will never want that to happen again.

 

I know it's not allowed in World of Warcraft because somehow you cannot gamble in that game without them taxing you somehow?

I'm not completely sure of the details, but I know it is against the rules.

As for RS, I really can't say. It really has taken off and is the new big form of "staking".

Staking can be found just as much as gambling as dicing so I don't see dicing being taken away for that reason.

You learn from your mistakes when you gamble and that is not to go back from the addiction. Trust me , Ive won 200m pots but when you lost the majority of it and your down low 50m , your just going to gamble your bank anytime soon

 

Kids come out into the real world, gamble their hard earned income and find out that real currency is alot harder to come by?

But then they go out make some money and gamble it again to try and get that bank back, afterall it's starting an addiction from a young age? "I'll only do a 25m bet this time" then get a win, and want to go again?

As much as I think it will stay, I wish it wouldn't .

I think If jagex agreed with it, they'd make an npc host where scamming wasn't possible. But that would be a "casino" Which im sure would be illegal.

So I think they are just turning a blind eye, just to keep the large dicing community in the game

 

Someone is mad they lost their bank dicing, and wants it to be banned..

Jk, but yeah dicing should be allowed It's just a fun player made mini game type thing that can make you money, or clean you.

 

Unfortunately I doubt there is much Jagex could do about the dicing scene as it is. Does it affect children? No. If you ask me it could be a wake up call and could maybe prevent them from gambling in real life. On the same hand it could promote. Many have lost their banks to dicing, other's have doubled.

 

Its just a game, nothings wrong with it

 

I am just wondering why you are on a black market, illegal, gold selling community and complaining about dicing... Something doesn't click there for me personally.

Of course it's fun, but I wonder how many kids have lost their bank, come back on sythe and bought another xxxM only to dice again


That's when It becomes somewhat of a real life addiction as their losing their own real life money :/

In no way have I complained once, I just asked the community what their thoughts are on dicing :x

 

I've recently turned 18, and believe me, Dicing has bred me a severe addiction of Gambling in real life, not so much as to rip my bank open, but it is definitely affecting my life. So like, yeah, seek help.

I'm sorry to hear that, and not meaning to use you as an example, but this is exactly why I think it shouldn't be in the game :/

 

What I'm trying to say is this money in the game is meant for you to be a real life character. If they want to bet money on a game or stake it, they will. Doesn't mean they'll bet 100m irl to punch another guy in the face no moving and see who wins. Lol.
