A majority of people believe the best government available is a democracy. The reason why they believe this is that they think the majority is more likely than the minority to select the right policies.

Can one believe that justice is the advantage of the stronger while also believing that majorities are most likely to be right?

I was asked this question in philosophy and i'm curious as to what the sythe community has to say.

I personally believe the way the media plays justice out it persuades people in to believing that justice is always right. But also its true that if you have money you have power in justice.

    Opinions?

    A) please state some definitions: justice, stronger
    B) most people do not like democracy because they think the majority will always make the right choices, they do it in order to have a government that is representative of the people.
    C) your actual question is very ambiguous when you have not defined any of your terms.

I don't understand what is specifically being talked about here. Whats the best government? What is justice? Is the majority always right? Whats being asked?

I wouldn't say if you have more money, you have power in the court room. If there is no evidence and you have lots of money, well then you have a slight edge on the verdict. ;) Depending on the type of crime that was commited, whether or not it was a Bluecollar crime or a Whitecollar crime also has to do with the verdict in say a courtroom. I'm assuming we are discussing the judicial system and the unfair practices of that system sometimes? Like others stated this is kind of vague and hard to understand where you are coming from. Elaboration would be excellent! :D

I come from the conservative state Utah, and was raised with most people around me being very conservative.

I have come to the realization that the majority of the people on this planet are really fucking stupid, and even though I advicate equal rights for all, I feel that only the best and brightest should lead countries.

The fact that a single mom with 8 children, living on welfare, with an IQ of room temperature's vote is counted the same as an intellectually adept individual is retarded.

Corruption is prevalent in governments without democracy so it's really hard to say..

Side note: just take a look at the Muslim epidemic going on in Europe and you will understand why democracy just doesn't work.

Government is in place to protect the general interests of the people that make up it's body. John Locke came up with the idea of social contract; it is the governments DUTY to AT ALL TIMES act in the very best interests of the people, and in turn, the people must uphold and adhere to the things that ensure that protection and stability.
