Weed doesn't have a dependency.

 

There are plenty of "non-addictive" drugs that can cause dependencies; Depression can severely increase these tendencies. Considering this thread is directed to the personal support forum I think depression is an extremely relevant factor.

One other thing I'd like to know is, Shoop, have you ever come across an instance on Sythe where a user who was seeking advice in the PA section was suggested the use of recreational drugs to deal with their problem, and then as a result of that wrecked his/her life? I've yet to come across anyone who's complained that their life was ruined as a result of a suggestion they received here.

 

No, I have however seen post of people trying to get off drugs such as weed because it has ruined their life. They didn't do it because of what people on Sythe said, but the simple fact their lives have been ruined by a drug seems a good reason for someone not to suggest other start taking the drug. What ever that drug might be.

Marijuana is not physically addictive, and it does nothing even close to ruining lives.

No one who smokes only weed is on the corner sucking dick for drug money.
No one who smokes only weed is starving themselves for drug money.

No one is depressed because they smoke weed.
No one has died because they smoke weed.

I fully support the op if it said "Illegal dangerous drugs" but weed is not a dangerous drug. Danger is when your life is in trouble, weed does not put your life in trouble.

You keep using the same excuse to why it should be against the rules, the fact is that weed does not ruin lives, so your previous post was invalid.

well I haven't read all the post buy I got to say I do support shoopadoop idea and let me explain why, if it is a bad idea to auto-medicate some medicine even if it's not illegal just because you are not a doctor to really understand what is happening in your body, and even if you are you should go to another one just for impartiality, if that is with a common medicine why you are just telling people hey just go and smoke some pot, which is illegal and not usually medicated by doctors.

 

This should be implemented throughout the whole site, promoting illegal drug use should be against the rules on sythe.

So? Runescape and WoW aren't physically addictive but people sure as hell get addicted to them to the point of their life being somewhat ruined.

How do you know any of those things? Also people can die from weed very easily if it is laced with a toxin/poison of some kind.

How does it not ruin lives if a person is content to just sit around smoking weed all day instead of doing something constructive with their life.

Neither are some other very other horrible things people can have/do. I don't really see the point of that argument especially when the VAST majority of the user base on this site are from places in which it is illegal.

For the most part it is, id also like to state that the majority of sythe users are under the age of 18 so enouraging children to do drugs even if it is legal in some places is still wrong.

 

OP didn't create this thread to ban the discussion of weed.

My understanding is he doesn't want people to suggest taking drugs as a first resort to solving problems.
