    Best Anti-Virus?

    Hey Sythe community,
I'd like to have your opinion on which Anti-Virus is the best for a gaming PC?

Price doesn't matter to my eyes.

    Thanks everyone.

    Regards,
    Lillie

    Best Anti-Virus?

    None.

All anti virus softwares I have tried just completely dominates my computer, so the best solution I have found is not using any at all. Ive found that if you pay attention, you have to have the computer knowledge of a 3 year old to get one.

I used to have norton but its SOOOOO aggravating. Everything I did was controlled by norton and it hogged up all my cpu all the time.

I like Microsoft Security Essentials. It's free, low-resource, and fairly decent. You shouldn't need an expensive security suite so long as you don't download shitty things and use good, up-to-date software.

    Best Anti-Virus?

Meh, honestly. I've never used any big anti-viruses. I just stick with my spybot search and destroy and just use common sense for downloading things.

Viruses can be undetectable to even the big anti-viruses.

This. I run spybot alongside nod32 and they seem to work well together. Just run a spybot search once a week or something, it's quite fast as far as anti virus scans go and always seems to detect some adware/spyware/whatever.

I use Norton because it's free from my isp. I wouldn't recommend anyone use it though.

In my opinion, Nod32 + Malwarebytes is probably the best free setup you can have next to the best antivirus of them all, common sense.

That never happens for me. I have Norton but I never use it because I just know what I'm doing. As you said, I can and have gone without an antivirus because I have enough sense.

But as far as Norton controlling everything, I don't see the legitimacy of the comment seeing as I've used it for years. I'll agree that it is a bit of a resource hog, but with the speed and quality of today's technology it really shouldn't even matter if you have a computer that isn't from the dark ages.

    Best Anti-Virus?

My friend bought his computer like a year ago, a pretty god damn awful one. NOD32 uses up like 25% of his CPU, it uses up 0% of mine (or so says task manager). I found that hilarious. Long live intel i5..

    Best Anti-Virus?

AVG is by far the best FREE anti virus software available.

Personally use AVG on my laptop and i have Mcafee on my desktop ( got 18 months free when i bought my pc) i certainly wouldn't suggest Norton antivirus lol, but Mcafee is pretty nice idk how much it costs though.

    Edit;
Out of your list, i would go with Avast, i've personally used it and find it works very well.

My trial of Norton ran out today so I installed AVG yesterday. Hopefully it works well as I have heard good things about it.
