    Using a dummy PayPal account

    Hi all,

I've recently been posting local ads to sell GP and typically meet these guys irl and do a nice, secure, happy, everyone wins trade. Was just contacted by someone who lives ~2.5 hours away looking to buy 500m+. I am wiling to drive to him to do the trade but he just offered to pay with Paypal.

Obv I want nothing to do with Paypal and such a large trade. Could I just set up a dummy paypal account, receive the $$$, and send it over to my real Paypal account before he has a chance to chargeback.

Hope so, cause I want his monies.

You make a Canadian PayPal account and you don't need to verify to receive funds but if you accept the cash through your PayPal and send it to your other (main) and the person happens to chargeback you'll still lose the cash, I think.

If you're driving there, can't the guy just give you straight cash? You can't go wrong with pure $$$ :p

Yeah man, I totally agree. I just don`t want to drive 5 hours, spend $50 in gas and risk him flaking out on me if I dont have to.

If you make a dummy account with fake info and a different ip, recieve the money and send it to your main account, then do a dispute on it and close the dispute. U will be safe.

Da real deal - thanks for the reply. Do you mean file/close a dispute between MY two accounts? Or have the customer file/close?

You'll regret this. I guarantee that you'll get caught and you'll get in loads of trouble.

hmm, i did it a few weeks ago. I also did a dispute and closed it after. So it's impossible for paypal to take it back. Guess i will never hear any of it. Or perhaps the guy didnt chargeback :)
