Market Mods - Reactive Not Active

It was aimed directly at him. I can't think of an example of my time here on Sythe when someone was promoted to be a market moderator that did not deserve it.

Now there was that one time with The Riddler_ where be was promoted and then lost his rank days after, but I'm not going to include that.

 

Never been a Market Mod but i know that how much they gotta work, its just not your section that they gotta look for......

They got plenty of work and after all they are Humans not Rs bots, lol

 

Suggestion: promote a few very trustable sellers, who know the market inside out, give them the ability to slap instant TWC's.

But don't give them a rank.

Leave it hidden. Don't even announce it. Just PM the potentials and screen them, whatever the Sythe process is.

 

This could be useful and at the same time harmful, we don't want these powers in the wrong hands.

 

In the wrong hands? People have traded ridiculous amounts of money on this site. What would they aim to lose by slapping TWC's on potential scammers?

There's no difference in a market mod and the other mods if they don't clean up the market. If your assigned market mod, you should do more than reports. The market on Sythe is the main part of sythe. If your assigned market mod, you see people blantly scamming, you should stop it. You should also have the ability to point out those scammers. If the market mods already have the ability to point them out and they still do nothing, then that's just pathetic. Those that have the ability to take action should, they shouldn't be neglecting it. Especially when it comes to scamming. If your just letting people scam, your no better than those people imo.

 

The only people who can "slap instant TWC's" are administrators. They will never give AdminCP access to normal members.

I agree with this, theirs some potential moderators who don't hang out in the IRC/Spam forum but let's be honest, why would they get someone who they don't really know who has the qualities vs someone who's always in the IRC and is known there?

(Not targeting anyone but that's just how I see it)

 

The way it if you got time to hang out in the IRC In your freeis because you want to right? Means you are interesnted to be involved in the community ansd you take the tine to do so, aswel you 'd as a mod take the time to accomplish your task as the site requires it

 

No sellers should be mod. They are to busy making money IMO. And now market mods do more than reports. I've cleaned the xbox section up like a boss. Now I do look at item sales and clean it up as needed. We can slap a twc for everytime someone says "he's a scammer cus he won't use a certain mm" we have to be fair and not bias when we see it. Normally if there is no proof I remove post and say to post in proper form in RaSc

 

I never went in Irc til I was mod. So your saying it's only people who butter up to current mods that get promoted?

 

Nobody with inexperience should be a market mod though. RsProd's a seller and he became a mod, and if he put a stop to know what was going on, he'd be an amazing mod for it. Awesome Stranger is a seller on Sythe, but he still has the time to be a moderator.

 

In all honesty, I had a TON of free time when I was buying/selling RSGP, I had a lot of downtime inbetween orders where i would browse Sythe, watch youtube video's, or just goof off in the IRC.

I can't speak for Viou/Busta/h1 who I'm sure get a lot more orders then I do, but that's how it was for me at least.

 

I agree with SP. I would watch tv and stay on msn while selling gold. Video Viou and the like have a lot of time

Wow, that's a pretty personal jab. I always had a war with Paypal frauders. I would ban them and was almost obsessed with finding them. That ranges all the way back to 2007, long before you even knew about Sythe, FireZ And to clarify, Paypal frauders actually BENEFIT my business, technically. By scamming Sythe members, it creates chaos, and people are more willing to buy/sell to me at my prices. What do I personally have to gain by banning them? Or are you just falling into the old default accusation that because I am a seller I don't care about the community. Expected a bit more from you.

Furthermore, what does this scammer have to do with my business? How am I benefiting from this discussion in dollars? I am spending my time on this because I actually care about the community, I am losing $ technically by spending my time on this as opposed to GP sales. Think before you speak.

I had to ask for an unban because I really wanted this point to get across:

R2 isn't suggesting more mods, he is suggesting the current ones do a better job of scouting out the market for anything fishy (sales, etc). There's a whole page in this thread of people trying to suggest mods, when more mods won't do anything.
