Need help with a New Server

I need help with a new server I am willing to make!

I have a
- Source
- Client
- Cache

This came in a package and is InsidiaX's project!
I need help with

Putting it together
Coding
Getting Players
Admins

I dont know how to do any so if you will help me add my msn: [email protected]
Also how much does it cost to host/month.£

 

Surely since you have a Source, Client and Cache you should be able to access your server already on that particular source you downloaded and just play it. As for hosting you will need to portforward your router (check a guide) and then stick it on RuneLocus to try and get some advertising going.

As for coding, unless you are running on a blank source and are starting from scratch or you want something specific on your server, you won't need to do that much coding, any that needs to be done would probably be little bug/glitch fixes. Getting players is advertising and hosting i don't really have a clue, sorry. But i hope i could help and give some insight! I like try and compile them and then the files get compiled but when i run it, the client comes up and doesnt load. So then I go to recompile and get basic errors. And then I look it up but nothing seems to work.
So IDK

 

What exactly is it saying in the compiler? Make sure you run the server before running the client, it cannot connect without the source itself actually running.

 

It was like Note: client.java was unexpected or something!
2 note errors came up

 

Added your msn and it won't cost anything per month if you don't use VPS. Other why it just cost your electric bill leaving computer hosting.

 

right click and click on edit in your run and compile files

if this is the code you have delete it

I also just realised you are using InsidiaX a big tip if your new to programming RSPS is use another source all that really needs doing in this is moving around npc's which is easy stuff and fixing memory leaks, fixing memory leaks in that source is either going to cost you heavily to get some one else to fix them or fix them yourself (highly doubt you will manage it)

Find yourself a source that has memory leaks fixed and there is no ways to dupe on it.

 

Servers like this are shit, because when the bigger problems come up (they will of course) the owners don't know how to deal with it as they leeched the fuck out of "their" server.

Regarding the post, a clean, popular source would work the best and preferably a 317 if you're new.
