This is horrible, The kids bullying him should be punished for their actions.

Also If I were in his position I think I would have dropped out of high school and opted for online school instead.

 

It's not always that easy - most universities will turn down applications, or take 'physical' school applicants preferentially, which I personally find is disgusting in this day and age. I'm currently in y2 studying biotech online and I'm probably not going to get into y3, due to the fact I don't go to lectures, but listen to them at home.

I have a close friend who was bullied throughout high school (ages 13-18, Australia) due to his sexuality - he's still messed up about it. But he survived. He survived by laughing at the people who were teasing him. The teachers had an incredible support group, which would make the world of difference.

 

Kids will always bully other kids. Has anyone read Lord of the Flies? Learn to stand up for yourself or one will always be bullied. It obviously didn't get better.

 

Seen this on the news earlier, truely horrible feel sorry for his family.

 

I think the people who bully must be treated as criminals, because, in fact they make "stronger" the bullied sometimes, but other times, things like this happen :S it's almost like killing, something must be done...

 

That's horrible, it's one thing to stand up for yourself when it's only one person bullying you, but when it's a group that usually doesn't turn out very well in the end.

kids who dont stand up for themselves or say anything basically bring it on themselves, when i first went too a new school the first day i was stereo typed as the hippie skater, and it was full of mexicans in the school...

basically, a mexican came up too me took my board and got in my face, so i head butted him, kneed him in the stomach while holding his head down and took my board and walked off... havnt been talked shit too or disrespected since.

point is that if you let the bully get too you; they win, so dont let them get too you or hurt them with a blunt object and they usually leave you alone, dont show weakness they prey on it.

Ontopic: Why do bullied people kill themselves? Thats just the easy way out. I have no pity for suicides. I can't say i really care if he commited suicide. I have nothing against homosexuals before you start raging at me.

 

Bullied kills themselves because they are weak. Death is a quick release for the weak. There's countless amount of help and possibilities out there yet they choose to kill themselves and cause their families grief.

I have no problems with gays seeing as they really don't affect me. I don't bully or anything. Live and let live. Also, I have stood up for gay people before in my life and I feel that it only takes that one person to stand up for themselves / or someone else to stand up for them.

Yeah, and people will always rape/murder others. There will always be a bad event happening forever. Of course we can't really stop it, but we can at least attempt to make it a safer environment for others.

Mexican is not a race, you are correct. But by referring to someone as a "mexican" it simply means place of origin. In my current american culture, people who are americans, will say that they are mexican ( even though they are latino ). I have had illegal immigrants attend my high school ( you're wrong dumb ass ).


The fact that you think not referring to someone 100% correctly makes someone ignorant is retarded. Mexican doubles as an ethnicity as it explains cultural backgrounds as well as describes someone as latino, not simply as a citizen. I've never seen a gay kid get seriously taunted. It seems like they over think things and assume everyone is talking about them and in the end do nothing but make themselves miserable neurotic messes about it. Or kill themselves. The news is annoying, they never used to report on this stuff and now they do. It happens to straight people too, but you don't hear about it as much. How about that kid with weird ears or big thick glasses, never hear about them killing themselves, but it happens. No need to make a huge deal cause he's gay.

To some people, a suicide is an escape that they accept. To others, such as victims of bullying, it's a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

However, you have to realize that punishing a bully doesn't always get them to stop. I was harassed by a colleague once, and he made death threats against me. I was discussing with my best friend about alerting his employer about these threats and some other photos that they might have incriminated him for. After this discussion, I decided against it. If I were to reply to him and insult him, he could go out of his way to harass me further. If I were to ignore him, he continues. If I send these death threats and photos to his work and he gets terminated, he would come after me. It was a losing situation all around.

Some of these people don't have many options. Even if they report the harassment to an official, there are a lot of situations where justice isn't served, and sometimes harassment increases.

As a victim of massive anti-homosexual remarks directed at me, even though I'm not homosexual (they pretended I was, to isolate me in school), I can tell you that telling an official will only in uncommon cases stop someone. In most instances, telling a teacher/family member/official is on par with "snitching", and is completely looked down upon.

Oh and suicide hotlines are definitely not a great place to turn to either. My friend's girlfriend once called a suicide hotline out of desperation for her depression. She was super worried. They ended up calling the insanity ward, and putting her on a bunch of meds that seriously messed with her head. It was absolutely pathetic. Victims of bullies have very little to hang onto.

 

It's sad that after all these events, people still bully gays. Heartless fucks.

 

I hate gays, but I hate to see people kill themselves even more. This is the reason I keep it to myself.
