    Troy Davis Case

So basically, if you don't listen to the news much, or you don't read/watch international news stations, a man named Troy Davis is going to be executed tomorrow.

    Why is this important?

This may just seem like one man, but this is the proof that "freedom" and "justice" in the United States is dwindling fast.

After reading all that I really feel that is wrong, I feel like more evidence is needed to do this. Especially after several people took back their statements.

If there's no proof, he should not be convicted. Bottom line.

But for those of you that feel this way about this situation, how do you feel about Casey Anthony? It's basically the same scenario. Everyone says he did it, there's no proof, he's guilty anyway. The only difference is people find him innocent and her guilty because of the difference in crime. Hers appeals people's emotion more.

Casey Anthony's case is different because while it didn't contain any concrete evidence that could be used against her in the trial, there were countless examples of circumstantial evidence. Also, I think any human being with a fully functional brain can (all legal procedure aside) look at Casey Anthony's case and know she's guilty.

Innocent until proven guilty. Whatever happened to that? So many aspects of this case don't make sense. They didn't prove him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. If they can do this to Troy Davis, they can do it to any one of us. #RIPTROYDAVIS

    Davis' last words:

"I'd like to address the MacPhail family. Let you know, despite the situation you are in, I'm not the one who personally killed your son, your father, your brother. I am innocent. The incident that happened that night is not my fault. I did not have a gun. All I can ask ... is that you look deeper into this case so that you really can finally see the truth. I ask my family and friends to continue to fight this fight. For those about to take my life, God have mercy on your souls. And may God bless your souls."

Just thought that might be of interest to some of you. So damn fucked up... I hate America more and more every day.

    a) he was beating up a hobo
    b) prosecutors say shell casings were linked to an earlier shooting for which Mr. Davis was convicted
nuff said even if innocent for the crime at hand.

There was no plausible evidence to convict him as the witness's recanted their statements. I'm so done with the American government.

Last night justice took it up the ass with no lube. I also hope the victim mother dies a slow painful death and the real cop killer kills another cop. Fuck America and no place else.

    You're an idiot.

He was convicted earlier for a separate shooting and he was beating up a hobo.

    You're a mentally incompetent coon.

There was never proof and 7 witnesses admitted to lying in court. Do your research before you open your waste of God's time making mouth.

I'm pretty sure he didn't get the death sentence for those things. Weird. We can put people to death for an event there was no murder weapon found for, and no DNA evidence of, just because it suddenly makes sense that they were doing something else?

    Previous cases.

Plus, you wishing death on the victims mother is just pathetic. Wanting another cop to die? The only thing someone should wish for is peace and less violence.

No, I definitely don't agree with the outcome. I fully feel that one is innocent until proven guilty.

What I don't agree with is that the only thing hitting the media is that witnesses repealed their original testimonies. The media has chosen to withhold the information of him being convicted of a previous shooting and that he was beating up a hobo, in which the police officer was shot trying to stop him.

Media makes the story bigger and more controversial = more money for media.

Are you kidding me america? It is quite obvious what happened here, someone shot the dude, and everyone said "Oh lets blame it on Davis" and so they did..... This day in age its almost impossible not to find evidence if the person is guilty. There are so many signs that show just how innocent he was. I am really dissapointed in this..

    a) Hoping for bad things to happen to those you dislike is human nature. Somebody kills a family member, you'll probably want them dead. Is that disgusting? I'll agree that the "kill another cop" part was stupid.

Also, quit bringing up the "previous shooting and beating up a hobo." EVEN IF that did happen, it isn't what they convicted him for! Do some research before you try to completely dismantle other people for supporting an innocent man whose life was taken due to extreme faults in America's justice system.

You do realize that NONE of the mainstream media outlets in the U.S. were reporting this story until >AFTER< he was executed, right?

DemocracyNow was the only one. It had 30k+ visitors on its livestream from 6PM EST to 11PM EST.

And what about Ireland, Germany, Norway, Peru, the UK, and other countries that protested. The world was watching this case, not just a few people here and there.
