Windows 8 Merges with Xbox Live

In essence, this means that if you buy the PC version of Call of Duty (just an example) you will be playing with the Xbox 360 players. There has been a lot of speculation as to whether or not you can play Xbox 360 games directly on your PC as well, but I guess for now we will stick to the facts.

I am not too enthused by this quite honestly. I know for a fact the console owners will cry hack every time someone owns them because of the superiority of mouse+keyboard over controller. Auto aim doesn't account for all of the advantages that a m+kb setup offers, so PC players will have an advantage. I've never seen this implemented in a way that was entirely successful on both ends (they've done it with games in the past, console gamers always whine until it gets patched out) so I'm extremely hesitant about this.

If it means I get the 360 exclusives then I'm all for it, because I wouldn't mind playing GoW or Halo on my PC tbh even if it required a 360 controller. I just don't want this to indirectly effect the quality of PC games.. we already get shafted enough as it is. If this offers the opportunity for developers to get lazy and develop only for the 360 rather than the 360 and the PC in order to save money, I will be pissed as hell. Console ports suck ass and games that are developed specifically FOR the PC are few and far between as it is.

Seriously though, it has it's ups and downs, I personally won't be getting windows 8. will we have to pay to be able to play with xbox people tho aswell? Knowing microsoft they'll be money whores and do it..

 

I think it would be great for pc gamers such as myself to have access to ALL the console titles. Gran Tourismo 5? I've wanted that since it came out.


And everyone should know pc > console. God there's so many games I wanna DESTROY console gamers in. Can't wait. Anyone that thinks it will never happen is ignorant.

 

Aren't some PC games easier to exploit than consoles/vice versa?

Pretty sure I've seen more PC games become exploited than their Xbox counterparts.

Well, I think they might make it so console gamers have an advantage because I believe they did a trial of console gamers vs total noob pc gamers and the console gamers got destroyed (this is FPS).

 

Haha, yes! I've always though about this, FPS sucks on console. Easily exploitable, though.

I've always wanted to be able to beat stupid console people while using a computer.

 

Can't say I'm very happy about this. I play pc and xbox, however I am much better on xbox in comparison to others than I am on pc. I know for a fact an average pc user could own me if I was using an xbox, even as an above-average player. This would ruin console gaming; especially fps games.
