Luring is a touchy subject, but when it comes down to luring, 99% of lures are commited because of Your Greed (drop party etc.). It's kind of like anti luring in a sense, rushers have greed to kill without deaths, so people anti rush. Alot of people have greed, and try to attend drop party's and other handouts for free gp, instead of earning, so in a way, luring is needed in rs to keep people straight.
So in the end, luring is not scamming, merely a way to get back at pixel hungry fags.

My problem with this logic is that it only applies to runescape.

If you lure someone in real life, say with a get rich quick scheme and they lose a lot of money, it may be ok because they were a "greedy fag" and deserved it since after all they should know not to risk their money on get rich quick schemes, but if you're caught you still go to jail.

If sythe acknowledges that luring is scamming and still wants to allow it that's up to the staff.

I should have titled this thread "why is luring not scamming" because that's what I honestly want to know.

I have yet to read one valid reason for why luring isn't scamming.

Yes it is scamming in a way, but such obv. scamming.

Think about it like this: With account trading, rsgp selling, etc, the sellers don't ask you to send them more then the price. Luring they want your bank. With trading scams work mostly of people taking the password, items, rl money and ignoring you. Luring works almost the same, except for the areas they take you, wild is most popular...

I've never been lured. Also, using your logic, someone who got scammed was so stupid and it's their own fault, no?

is true that jagex allows luring as is your responsibility entering the wilderness that's why all the warnings sings and everything, but well we mainly go against jagex rules don't we? I don't support luring as it is a very lame way to gain some $$ but well rules are rules and for jagex is not prohibited so fuck them
