    Which is the best?

    Elloh everyone,

I am trying to find a good host, but there are so many choices and websites, I have no idea which is better. I searched the internet for about 2 weeks now looking at other sites recommending people to register (or host) with a certain company but I think they are just bsing and getting paid for it.

    > I am looking for both domain registrar (no more) and host <

The website will have a forum, most likely from phpBB or vbulletin, I am also not going to be cheap, but not full on the throttle as well. I am willing to put a reasonable amount into this provided that I get a lot of features, and possibly with less downtime.

The reason, I am bringing this question to Sythe is because I know, many people have done it or at least know about it.

I am not experienced or have done this sort of work before, people did tell me try out the free stuff first but the thing is I don't have time and I would rather start now. So if anyone is going to give me advice, please provide some explanation.

If you want to get a hold of me, please PM me (I will add you from there), as I barely go on MSN.

    Much appreciated,
    Prostakes

    EDIT - *UPDATES:

    Registered domain with www.yola.com

    Which is the best?

I'd recommend hosting with iPage and domain registration with Namecheap.

Namecheap is a good choice for a domain registrar. They also offer hosting plans. From looking at iPage, it looks like their hosting plan gives you a free domain, so it may not be a bad choice either.

For the site you're looking to make, any of these companies hosting will be adequate, at least until you start gaining a lot of traffic.

Hey thanks for the recommendation but I checked both of their reviews and they are known for massive downtime and other problems related to customer support and payments.

If you're worried about downtown, stay away from dreamhost. You may come across that company in your search. Dreamhost is one of the worst hosting/domain registrars I have ever come across.

As for hosting, I have exactly what you need (I can't believe I forgot about this company). ASmallOrange (asmallorange.com). They have amazing hosting and I think they might also provide domain registrations. I've used them and so has a good friend of mine and there are no complaints. I also use them for the company I work for.

No, they only provide hosting services but I am looking at it regardless, if it's as good as you say it is, I think I will choose them.

Also what do you guys think about: www.yola.com // www.webs.com ?

Lol, I checked them out as well, and they are not reliable at all. I have been at it and so far the only reliable hosting company I found was www.webair.com, and their plans are over the top.

    Which is the best?

I am checking it out, but it seems like they are good for small websites with a few users.

Well for a budget under $10 you will have a hard time finding a reliable host.

HostGator is actually one of the most reliable web hosts on the internet, with possibly the best support staff you can find.

You should try http://www.freehostia.com/, it has everything you're looking for. Get a cheap domain from either namecheap, or see if Register still has that $5 domain deal going on and get one there.
