Very much agreed. We're now going to see a lot of spam going onto new threads by newcomers saying how they are "trusted". Yes, I understand that it's up to the seller, but then we'll have people arguing on the thread on who is trusted and who isn't.

It's gonna be a lot of mess, if i'm understanding everything correctly. OGV would be a lot better imho.

 

Very good system. We do this in one of the forums where I am also active.

 

This will just cause a lot of spam "Shall I verify this for you?"
As will it cause additional 'fake vouching' as people can just make a second account now it doesn't matter who verifies.
Only difference is, it is not official.

I would like to see the OGV team back, though it's a waiting game I suppose.

 

At the very least, for now, please implement a set of parameters an unofficial verifier must follow when verifying a guide and how he will be punished if he is found not to have followed said parameters.

Ones I can think of
-Plagiarized guide
-Leaked guide (check youtube, google)
-Request IP check on seller from mod
-Check accuracy of M/hr or $/week
-Is the Guide on the forbidden list (http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=956919)

Also, put the forbidden list as a sticky in the RS forums

Love this update. I was gone when this happened, but from what I can tell, this update has received a quite a bit of attention.

Looks great, though perhaps a sub-forum wherein users would be able to advertise their guide-verification services should be created (to avoid the havoc that comes with allowing users to advertise of people's guide threads).

TBH I think this is one of the worst updates that could be done for Verified guides. The lay out is nice and im glad theres more sections for other guides... But what was wrong with free guides where it was or even ANOTHER sub section. Taking away verified in my mind is the worst thing you could have done. Verified guides give more peace of mind to noobs ( not in a bad way) so they dont have to sort through the bs of all the potential scammers. When i first stared i hardly looked at regular guides i went directly to verf and then looked at some other ones. My guide has been in the verified section proudly for almost a year. Now I have to constantly bump it to contend with these newcommer potential scammers (75% imo maybe less now that glitches are banned). I doubt you will read this or even do anything about my comment besides lol at my futile attempt to add a verified section again.

 

I think ogv's should be brought back it only makes guide trading safer!!!

And "Hello good sir, I am a valued member of Sythe and would love the opportunity to announce my experience with your guide/ebook to the rest of the community" and "Brol leme tel others haw gud this shit be k"
