How Is Sythe So Popular?

On the internet, there are popular forums like Sythe, which just keep on growing and growing.
And there are those that just fail.

What instigated Sythe's popularity?
How did people learn about it and come flocking in, before it was so popular?

note: I'm asking about the strategies used
ex: adverts could've been one, but I don't think that can be the only reason.

 

I do not know other similar sites as Sythe.

What are they?

The foundation of the site came from search engines, and the need to develop a place for cheaters to cheat, discuss cheating, trade the goods that they cheated for, and make fun of the game they're cheating on.
That's why we started. As time went by, the site evolved into the awesomeness that you see now, and has great things in its future. We, as the members, will NEVER let Sythe die.
If RuneScape dies, which is inevitable, we will continue based on the amazing community. Obviously, users will drop, but focusing on a general game market, we will thrive.

 

Runescape grows, we grow. People wish to cheat, generally they find sites like the ones we have here.

 

After being staff in two other popular sites which were mostly based on Runescape I will mention three points.

Market, it covers many things, and with recent updates it's just getting better and better.

Staff, it's the less corrupt, most respectful and hard working staff I've known in a single community, and it's chosen really well.

Previous botting, though it's no longer that popular here, which is why there's a suggestion about it, Sythe used to have lots of bots stuff related.

And... well of course there's the other discussion forums which covers most popular internet topics.

 

Then what about the other non-popular runescape cheating sites?

How did the people find the site in the first place?

 

I found it while tryin 2 buy rsgp... I really don't want to give those foreign old ladies over the phone my info so trading on here is much easier

Interesting question, I think it's really because of the staff.

If you look at most other RS cheating websites they went to dust because of corrupt staff.

 

Its all to do with the search engines. As more users come flooding in, we go higher in the search engines for various different tags.
This means more come in, and we continue to grow.

We also have a very active community and there is literally something here to suit everyone.

 

The incentive that making money is possible here, even when you have nothing, excites people. I know thats what got me into sythe. And once people have been here a while they notice the strong sense of community that comes along with it.

 

I honestly don't even remember how I came across this site, but I'm sure it's popularity spreads by word of mouth

Moving this to Sythe support.

 

It started as a hub for a group of people who used to cheat RuneScape. From that, a market for RWT evolved and more and more people became aware of the money making possibilities that RWT had to offer.

You see through Sythe history that in the early stages there was a will to keep a group of sound, fit and legit guys to manage the site, which has laid the foundation for the staff group today. Many people choose Sythe over other sites at the time such as Fagex because of the corruption within the staff group at Fagex. This is still a continuing trend today with people choosing Sythe over Powerbot because of the ongoing integrity that the staff continue to show.

While pretty much everyone comes here for the market, a lot soon become aware of the community opportunities such as the Off-Topic and Community sections, the IRC, Spam Forum, etc, which form the community we have today. I think at the establishment of this site there must have been a push and focus for a strong sense of community because it has definitely passed down through the different generations of users.

If I had to put my finger on one sole factor it would probably be because this was the first established market for RuneScape. Google searches, word of mouth, are how people find Sythe and then choose to further stay for either the money making opportunity with the huge market we have to offer or the community and political aspect side of things. Although places like powerbot may have a lot of numbers, don't be fooled - it may have the size but definitely nowhere near the legitimacy and community-sense we have to offer and will for years continue to.

 

I would say word of mouth, referring one user to another really brought an impact on this site. Gold sellers usually advertise their services througout other sites which also led to Sythe. I also believe Sythe started way before anyone else as it used to be in a different name and its just grow. It was pretty much the first site that anyone knew about where you can cheat on Runescape and usually the first of something brings success later in life as well as cause a chain reaction and let others open their own sites. I would say Sythe is the mother of Runescape cheating.

I came here through R2Pleasent which is a trusted and highly ranked GP seller on Sythe.

I actually only came here just to buy gold from R2Pleasent but then I just become hooked and saw this place really has more to offer.

Search results grow as more people spread the name of Sythe and ranks climb higher until Sythe is really the hottest spot around.

 

Sythe used to code and sell his own bots on here. That's the original merit you were talking about.

 

Old community, popular blackmarket.

 

Been about for sometime & people know the community & staff here are better then all blackmarkets to be fair.

 

Actually, lots of people were afraid of Sythe, saying that 90% of the traders here were scammers :/
If you were a user from Sythe, you were labelled "one of them," and it was kinda hard to get along.

But yeah; during that 07~08 period when Juansito sold fagex to a shitfly, there was a major corruption in staff. One of the main admins Blueflames scammed a lot of the members.
Then I remember something about 1337 macro and another main admin, and the site splitting into two because one of those two main admins used donation money to buy himself a new laptop and an ipod.

But still. During that period, Sythe was already popular and infamous, so it can't be the reason why it started to get popular.

But yeah; that last paragraph is convincing enough.
