I don't need it for extreme gaming, it's really for RS/youtube/browsing facebook and such.

I would say yes. I got a Laptop for much more than that price with a shitty processor and all. I got it for just normal uses and it gets the job done (just gets hot fast). That laptop is more than enough for normal use unless you plan on botting on it only.

 

Thanks for the input, yeah it may exceed my needs, i just want something that will be reliable in the long run and it has a 1 year warranty.

 

It will indeed be reliable in the long run except that it might be a bit big and heavy in case you ever want to take to college/work (trust me on this, I regret buying the same size laptop you have). You might also want to extend your warranty (I'm not sure if it's just me but I tend to forget when my warranty expires) as it's very crucial in case of mechanical issues.

 

I don't intend on taking it to either, plus I have the luxury of buying it in person, I'll be able to test the weight and size myself. I see what you mean though, it seems like a great desktop replacement though (as my current desktop is shit).

I really do keep it around the house, unless maybe i go to a friends or on vacation, once again 17.3" HD seems really nice for movies along with the Beats audio.

You found the perfect laptop for you, however I would try and avoid HP if you could, their machines last 2 years if your lucky.

 

Thanks, but I've owned HP desktops and laptops and know people who have had them for a lot longer.

 

It's different for everyone, however their support site is shit, it took me three days to figure out they were giving me the wrong driver for the wrong desktop even after I called them and e-mailed them.

 

Stated in main post, playing rs while casual browsing on youtube/facebook/*******, also using skype, etc. In the long run, i may be botting a couple accounts or playing a more demanding game.

I suppose, I like my HP products though.

 

If you aren't using it for gaming I highly suggest for you not to get a 17.3".

Get a 15" or smaller. The 17" will be heavy and annoying to carry around.

 

I'll mostly be at home with it, if i do take it anywhere, I put it in a backpack.

 

Having a laptop is nice because of its portability, when you go for the 17" you pretty much lose that. Go to the store (if you haven't yet) and compare the size and weight of different sizes of laptops. Yes a 17" can still fit in a backpack but it's not fun to carry around.

 

If it fits. My 17.3 inch is huge. 22 inches diagonal when closed

 

I've already done this, I honestly don't see it as a problem, I own a 15.6 now, I feel that the screen is small, weight isn't a concern to me.

It will, I've already tested my friend's, I was worried about the screen being to big at first, but I've looked in-stores and compared mine to friend's, I do like the 17.
