    So my favourite type of movies are those with the whole "gangster" setting, I've seen a few but not enough IMO.

    Favourites I've seen so far:

    Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
    Takers
    American Gangster
    (Also love the TV series Underbelly)


    Recommend me your favourites so I can go out and watch them.

    Ever seen "rocknrolla", not sure if it would qualify for a gangster movie but is good non the less.

    If you don't mind TV shows, watch the whole series of The Wire. It's an HBO series so you know its good.

    It's not mob gangsters though, its like black thugs and gangs.

    Not sure if it counts as a"gangster" movie, but I just watched The Usual Suspects and I've got to say it absolutely blew me away. One of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Incredible ending... (watch it, don't google it!)

    Scarface and Godfather are the legends out there.
    Goodfellas is a MUST watch.
    Alpha Dog was surprisingly good as well.
    Knockaround Guys has a mob related story behind it. Really good.
