People not being able to put "official" in their title

Hey guys I just noticed that someone put Official in their title. I think we should have a rule against putting this in their title as it could be rather confusing for users (particularly newer members) unless of course they are omms.
    Thanks

I think there is. Just report it to a Global or Market Mod and they should edit it and warn the member :)

There are vey many threads about this. Anyone can say anything thAt they wish in sales threads that cannot be disproven.
That's fine unless it was a guide that actually wasn't verified.

    Dns after close?

Official doesn't really mean anything, unless it's a guide / MM thread. No support on this.

However, as we're on the subject of title tags I think putting [Trusted] in your title without the trusted rank should be against the rules.

We've been through this, trustworthiness is subjective. It's up to the other people to trust you, no matter what tags you put.

Also, if you are no official MM, or your guide is not official, then you should get infracted. So just report.

Honestly someone putting official in their topic is not going to make me trust them lmao

My point of view is this.

Any new, or casual member of Sythe may think that because the title says "Trusted" that in fact means they're trusted. It's what I thought when I first joined, it would probably be the same for the majority.

They are not trusted because they do not show to be trusted.
If they've not received the rank, they have not shown to be trusted enough to put the tag in their title.

It's like someone random placing [Ex-mod] In their title, it's not true because they do not have the rank.
An ex-mod who doesn't have the ex-mod rank is because they didn't deserve it, meaning they do not deserve to use that title.

Or it's like someone putting [Donator] In their title, yet not actually donating. This isn't allowed... At least I hope not.

Now obviously to be considered trusted you do not need the title, but I think in order to use the tag, you should have the rank.

A few other examples / points. Obviously trusted people on Sythe Viou/video to name a small amount, deserve this rank... yet they do not have it.
They still should not get the option to use this tag (Not to say that they use the tag). (and no i'm not suggesting these ranks to those people, this was strictly an example.)

It's misleading, just like the whole "Putting posts in Location"

I think the rules should be changed on that, and some more of those ranks should be given out to people that deserve them.

I agree with what people are saying, people have different views on who is trusted and who is official. Although I do think it shouldn't be allowed, but it's never going to happen. Unless it's a guide or MM thread.

If anyone is using thread titles that make them seem Sythe-endorsed when they're not, just report them.
