Exactly, i dont like all the gold farmers, I liked the time when you would bot for skills and be like yay finaly got a 99 instead of making a buisness out of runescape.....

Yes. It kills the market and any money making methods that are available, trying going to frosts and training legit, its frustrating. This is making a lot of legit players quit.

 

I have been botting since 2002-2003. Runescape is still alive.

Runescape will not totally die, i think Pking will remain, because it's fun.
The more the RS Economy crashes, the cheaper it is to PK ^_^

 

Botting alone made JaGeX $171M last year.
If anything, botters help JaGeX keep the circulation of items moving around.

Goldfarmers are the ones who mess the game up, not botters.

People have been saying RS is dead for years. And people will always say it, years to come. Although many of you make really good points to support your arguments, and I can't say I can agree on one side, I don't think any of us know the real answer. Jagex can change things in the single update at any given moment which will turn the course that the game is heading.

 

Obviously it will kill RuneScape. It pushes all of the legit RS players to another game.

 

Runescape will never go back its too far.. the gold farms will have this huge stock pile of gp if they implement the limit again.. therefore.. They'll be selling it dirt cheap to get rid of it probably in which case they'll gold farm on your account or do 60k trades? lol

There are always going to be people who will play legit, take a look at Zybez and their community. Quit bitching about ruining money making methods by goldfarming and find new ones for yourself.

You're all missing a VERY valid point, botting defeats the purpose of a 'game' if you want to PLAY Runescape, and you enjoy PLAYING the game, don't bot it and contribute, then contradict yourselves by saying It's killing it. If you do not want to grind your skills find an MMO where It's easy to get to the max level and has the content readily available to feed your gaming needs. I can understand that the game makes money, and that It's addictive, but the soul purpose of a game is to play it, not let some 3'rd party program play it for you. Botting, as a whole isn't killing the game, at all...the people who do it however are killing it by lumbering jagex with all the reports, bitchy pre-teens whining about it, legit players quitting over it, ect ect...

 

I think it's killed the economy. The price of most items have dropped like crazy. But I can't complain, I myself bot so it would be hypocritical of me to complain.
