    Mouse Recorder help

Could someone please explain to me how to make a simple mouse recorder? I want to have one but I don't want to download one from the internet concidering 99% of them are viruses or something similar. I am very new to java so please don't make it too complicated :) Thank you for your time.

You wouldn't use Java for a mouse recorder because of the limited scope of the program. You'd be better off with C++.

You could and since its a simple program, it doesn't really matter.

Please educate me how you'd manage to make an auto clicker with Java?

    With java.awt.Robot?

Because if he doesn't know about it in the first place, it would be easier in C++.

and since he's asking, it obviously isn't simple for him

So, my suggestion is to look at using C++. If you insist on using Java, do some research on java.awt.Robot

    Good luck.

I don't see how you telling him to use this other language, that he hasn't said anything about him knowing, would be any easier than using a language that he at least knows a bit.

I don't see how you telling him that it's simply easy is helping him.

He doesn't necessarily know Java very well and might look to expand himself to a language more suited to this type of application.

I told him about the Robot class, as well as suggesting to use a different language. If you read my post - I suggested the use of C++ but in the event that he was adamant on using Java then he should use the Robot class.

For some reason you don't seem to appreciate learning another language, which would actually benefit him - rather than telling him "it's easy".

C++ is no more suited to a mouse recorder than Java is. Telling him to just use C++ doesn't help in any way as you didn't tell him anything about why C++ is better suited or how to go about doing it in C++.

I also do not know why you escalated this into a fight. If you can not take it if someone disagrees with you, just don't post. All I wanted to say was that it was entirely possible to do in Java and C++ did not give you anything better for a program of this complexity. I was simply giving him my view that is counter to your view in which you implies you could not do this in Java which is just plain wrong.

    I didn't say it couldn't. I said you wouldn't.

Given his skill set in the language, it would be easier to use C++.

Here's a link on how to get started, I hope it goes well for you.

If you want more help on C++ or Java feel free to PM me, I'm not going to continue this futile debate.
