Astronomers say new 'super-earth' is possible

Eventually we will mote likely be able to reach this 'Super-Earth' but i doubt it'll be any time soon considering the distance.

I heard about this a while back in a newspaper article but i didn't believe it

The sad truth is that something like this would be necessary in order to actually put life on this planet. We probably have the technology to freeze people and bring them back untarnished, so that they could live on this planet, but what we haven't thought about is what they'll use for homes, what they will eat, their interactions with what ever may be on the planet, etc.

Our planet will be destroyed before scientists successfully put people on a different planet via pollution, war, and over population.

 

This has been known since the beginning of man-kind & GOD already has a name for it. Its called "The Heavens" or "Heaven". 99.99.... % of people that "Study" "Science" or call them selfs a "Doctor" or "Professor" in any field of "Science" are more lost & confused then the rest of the world, they just dont know it.

Heres a lil bit of my beliefs on Life for those of you that care to hear it from a Prod1gy @ Life, hence Prod1gyLife =P.

Science was originally found to be Blasphame when first introduced to man & able to be executed for trying to Preach/Teach even speak it. It is a creation of evil created to make us lose sight of whats right & true. According to Science "theory #1" remains a theory until able to prove any other possible theory that goes against "theory #1" to be false. Only then can it be considered a "Law".

Well 1 of the oldest "Laws" of science has still yet to go through that process. Created by a believer of GOD & worshiper of Christianity supposedly Issac Newton. That is the supposed "Law of Gravity". Real easy to discredit the whole "THEORY" itself by following some of Sciences own teachings and that is controlled experimenting. Can we take away the Sun and then see if gravity still exist? Or can we take away the moon & see if it really is was causes the high & low tides in bodies of water?

Truth of it is, GOD created the Earth and the Universe as we know it & when he created us he placed us here on this place we call Earth & we are stuck here cause he wants us to be for whatever reason. Man-Kind tho a victim of evil have become creatures that have to have the answers for everything & be in control of everything. So we listen & buy into evils words and fall that much further off track & each thing that we wake up everyday believing makes it that much harder to hear & see the truth, even when right in front of us.

Just some of the feelings & thoughts ive had that have created the beliefs I have today. Wich is all I can recommend others to do & that is sit back with an open mind, eyes & ears & listen to what your feelings tell you or what GOD has to say. Eventually youll come face to face with something there is no doubting or denying & that is GOD or the truth which thats all GOD is, the Truth.

OT: It would takes thousands of years to get there, if we ever did arrive we would likely be wiped out by the beings there(assuming something lives there)

 

Nice name for a planet, hehe It would be really strange to walk other planet like earth and if it had all the conditions to live.

 

Well although im sure I will never see it in my lifetime, it is good to know that future generations have a chance to get off this planet which is inevitably going to be doomed at some point in the future.

I wonder if there is life on the planet, because water usually means life forms.

That's only an unmanned aircraft, so just to recieve pictures of a planet 36 light years away, it would take 306,000 earth years.

Discoveries are cool, but relying on something 306,000 years away is a little far fetched.

 

Irony.
When you spend four thousand years and countless generations of people getting to a planet and you crash the shuttle, killing everyone inside.

Anyways, I think we'd be better off finding somewhere closer or waiting until they figure out advanced technological ways to move us there faster.

 

I'd rather take my chances on this planet then travel 36 years at 225.600 km/s... Which by the way will be impossible for many many years.

 

Seeing as nobody actually knows the true size of the universe, it's only logical that there has to be other life out there.

 

I watched this, it is said that it has an atmospheric layer, which could support life. Astronomer's also say that there may be water! What an incredible find.

I do not think that there are any creatures similar to humans in other planets.

interesting, i read some of the comments below apparently they are finding alot of other things out there too. Imagine how many things they've already discovered if they just found another odd 50 planets..

 

We gotta step up and put all our funding to built a super rocket or something. Otherwise we can kiss this dream for another life good-bye.
Seriously though this is just to good to be true it's hard to say for sure whether this planet is actually suitable.
We are so lonely. :'(

This thread is really awesome and interesting! Damn 36 light years away though?! I thought going on a trip with my family that took 17 hours in a car was a long trip!

 

Looks pretty neat, we just need to be able to get there ;p

 

36 light years away, we'll never know.

Speculation usually leads to a lot more speculation, and before you know it people are creating theories on the way the 'aliens' would appear.

I would love to find out it was habitable, but how would they actually go about that? If we only have theories and speculation, since 36 light years away just isn't fees-able in our lifetime anyway.
