Sythe Guilds/Clans

If you have ever seen D2jsp, than you would know what I am talking about.

A higher member would pay an admin to Purchase a guild. Now the price would be 100m lets say. You are basically forever tied to this guild. This would raise money for people in need (Finn) and help out the site.

These guilds can be based on whatever, aslong as they are legal. There would be a recruitment page on basically what they are looking for in able to join the guild.

Examples of some known guild names that would work,

- 100+ Vouch Guild
- Trusted Gold Seller Guild
- Off-topic Guild

Just things based around the forum they use, or to differentiate trusted sellers for items and not.

I believe this would also cut down on scams, because people would be able to view if you're in a trusted guild therefore promoting sales.

I think it would promote a false sense of security. Also, making the determination that someone is trusted, how do you do that? And is the leader of the guild at fault when one of the members scam?

No the leader isn't at fault. He just kicks him from the guild.

The leader would purchase the guide, and therefore charge a person to join (To get his money back). He would also set requirements if it was a guide that had requirements (Like the 100+ vouch guild.. you would need 100+ vouches)

 

I don't like the idea, still. Once someone were to scam while being a member, all credibility would be lost.

The concept is interesting.

As for the Scammers go, They would be Removed from the Faction, they don't Really gain anything but aknowledgment that they are apart of it.

A background check and new Fun Ranks could be used i suppose.

I've heard of an add-on for this, I'm not sure if there is one for vB though.

I think it would be an interesting add.

 

Guys, I think you are thinking of something else.

What I'm saying is someone owns a guild.. they can invite members and they can call it the Xbox guild or Runescape Guild.

It would show what guild they are on by the username.

The only perk they would have would be a part of that guild, and have a own thread for themselves or something like that.

 

Alright, then why do you need to make a suggestion for this?
You can do it already, post threads in spam forum.

 

It isn't just the concept for that, its the ability to own something for a user on here, a chance for Sythe to raise money and a chance for people to be apart of something.

 

No one is going to pay 100m, just to be able to make a thread for a "guild" that has no perks.

This idea has absolutely no actual use, other than to say "oh i'm in a guild" which actually means nothing.

 

Well, they used this concept on D2JSP.

They have constant guilds and people pride themselves with this.

These reasons extend from shitstorms with various favoritism and hatred to anonymous douchebaggery. It would inevitably start more drama than any of us need to deal with.

good ideal in a sense unfortunatly too many ppl are loners on these forums and dont want to trust being apart of a group with other sythers ;[

Definitely an interesting concept if the administrative team were willing to put a bit of time into making this work. As you may or may not have realized, there is a "Group Membership" feature available on this vB, as seen on our profiles: http://screensnapr.com/v/0qK8Uz.png - There has gotta be some way we can utilize that.

I think that blade made an amazing post just above, which leads me to say no support for this whole group thing.

But if you have any reasons why it SHOULD be implemented I'd love to read your opinions.

 

We have something like this already - it's called groups.
