When should you use violence?

Would have to agree with others to protect yourself or others.

Why? It will possibly save the life of someone.

Or if your job requires it. I.E a boxer a MMa fighter or a person in the military.

 

Couldn't have put it better myself. Seriously i was mugged just over a year ago and had people by a bus stop just standing there watching. Even when i was asking for help and also after the guys had left no-one came over to try and help me. 2 guys mugging me ~15 people at the bus stop just makes me think how people can live with themselves for not trying to help. If i was in their position i would have went over to help.

 

there can be many situations, but I HIGHLY recommend trying to avoid the problem, when there's no way, just neutralize them and leave. I was a new guy in my school, some 'pro guys' tried to pick on me, well I hit his nose and he started bleeding, I never got picked on again...

 

Violence shouldn't be used on mankind unless it's really a case that you can't control it. I don't think it's good either. It spoils the community and give bad influences to the people out there.

 

Well if you see it from the point of view of any self-defence martial art they state that the perfect fight is the one that never takes place even if they teach you how to break you oppenet bones or crush their skulls, they kind of prevent you use them for intentional harm of others

 

Depends on the type of violence.

 

When someone scams you on Sythe, and you manage to track them down, it is ok to use violence.

More serious note, I agree with the others in cases of Defending yourself, or defending someone else who may not be able to defend them self. I do believe that this would include defending yourself against theft.

 

Well if you find someone who is being theft and the only way out is violence well that bastard deserves it lol

But yes, as self-defense would be the number one reason to use violence.

Though I think its fair to use violence to an extent on anyone who has jeopardized your way of life, be it taking something you've worked for or threatening you or you're family.

Also, If someone is in your face punking you out in front of everyone and you know its going to end up in a fight anyway, throw the first punch. Even as self defense you are still subject to trouble to as soon as they start screaming at you and a little drop of spit hits your face, just deck them. Its assault on both sides regardless.

Kids get so many mixed messeges, "Dont use violence" "Stand up foryourself" "Use your words" "Dont let anybody push you around"

You just gotta blurr out that voice in your head telling you to "smash them in the face right now!"

I would only use violence if i was either getting punched, or someone was invading my personal space.

 

Are you smashing their faces as corpse grinder suggest? Woth a hammer and no regards? Just like in hammer samshed face song?

 

Only when someone wants to do harm upon me, or someone I love (like my girlfriend)
other than that, violence is not the answer to any problem.

 

Self defence.

 

It should be avoided in almost all situations (if you can). It is always better when you can walk away knowing that harm has been prevented as opposed to potential injury being inflicted on you or another person.

"Brains over brawn". If a situation can't be avoided, then self-defence would be the only justifiable means.

 

In the ring and on the dojo. Otherwise just tripping them or dominating them works. If it is a life-threatning situation where tripping them or dominating them is far from accomplishing its objective then I wouldn't fight, I would run or do what the guy with the gun says.

 

What do you mean by that? Do you mean like abusive violence towards your GF, or BDSM violence. there's a big difference.

 

You should use it when you need to stand up for yourself, to show that you're not a coward.

Violence is a well defined human aspect, and shouldn't be ignored as a simple 'must', or as something that 'just happens naturally".
THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN VIOLENCE AND THE PROCESS OF NATURE.

 

In self-defense. People take self-defense to the extreme though. They think if someone hits them, they have the right to beat the hell outta them. That is legally wrong. It says in America, that, in self defense, you deal back equal force, and then try to get away. So, legally, if a 300lb lineman hits a 100lb man, the 100lb man has the right to hit the lineman with a bat, because it is equal force. All in all, I believe self-defense is ONE of the ways to use violence.
