Need help, Sound isnt working on my desktop :S

Recently got an new computer, Running on windows 7 and for somereason the sound isnt working ? I have an sound driver and everything is enabled
any suggestions ?

 

You probably did not properly plug the plugs/wires to the desktop or plugged in the wrong port.

 

Make sure you have the LATEST update for that sound driver.
Sometimes when they ship computers, they don't update some drivers. GO on the manufacturers website and get the sound driver, updated one, for your computer model.

There shouldn't be any problems if it's a new pc, try fiddling with the wires and see if they're put in correctly.
Does your computer show you have the speakers/headphones plugged in?

 

You will probably just need to reinstall the sound driver. You should have a disc that came with your computer.

 

Check that your speakers are plugged into the green port on your PC and they are turned on, this solves the problem a lot. If still nothing then do as the others said and get the latest sound drivers from your sound driver manufacturer or your motherboard manufacturer website depending on if it is a dedicated sound card or not.

Do you know if the audio service is running? If it is then you might of plugged the speakers or head set in the wrong port. If they are in the right port then turn up the volume and make sure the speakers are plugged into an outlet. If none of this works you probably have defective speakers.
