Keylogged..

Hey I recently got keylogged and was needing some information about it. How do I make sure he/she cannot get back my password or get back on my account? What do I need to do? I also got their I.P. I guess is what it is. Is there anything I can do with it? Thanks alot!

 

Clear any viruses and malware from your computer and AFTER that is done, change all your details.

 

I would scan my computer with some sort of antivirus or malware program. Next I would change my passwords as soon as you confirm everything that can threaten your computer is removed. Then I would give the IP to staff member just in case whoever it was wasn't from this site.

I would also recommend Malwarebytes and AVG.

 

My anti-virus went out YESTERDAY and I got logged TODAY. So should I update it asap? And also, can they get my other accounts?

 

Scan your computer and delete all infected files, use an on-screen keyboard if you need to access anything with a password before your scan is completed.

Yes after everything is cleaned.

 

Delete or Update you anti-virus with a new version/program. Then once safe and secure, change every detail regarding what you're protecting to something new and hard to guess.

And once you're properly secured and safe, don't see why you couldn't.

 

Suggestion, scan your computer, delete any possible malware spyware or anything around, spam thing and stuff you are not quite sure where they come from, i suggest you use AVG antivirus, and download some key codes for it to last, change your rs password a few times (in which you should use not only letters but caps symbols and number, preferable some kind of random stuff like tsrw325FWet%5036njksd or something which are likely difficult to get with a normal algorithm), change you e-mail which is attached to rs account and the mail password as well, and do not enter the same pass for both, finally the recovery question, and do not use any third party software for playing in which there are no trust
* note if you are willing to change the email be sure of changing it back again after a few weeks or so just to remember and being sure which one is just a tip is not necessarily something to do

 

Best thing to do is to change all of your passwords using the on-screen keyboard FIRST, then use an anti-malware program such as malwarebytes to search for malicious files such as the file your keylogger is hidden in.

I would suggest for you to use Spybot: Search & Destroy to remove the keylogger from your system. You will need to update the program with the latest detection methods. Make sure AFTER you remove the keylogger to restart your system and scan it again.

If the keylogger reappears then you will more than likely need to reformat your hard drive. Keyloggers nowadays are very sophisticated when it comes to avoiding security software. I hope you have your operating system disc.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this one, but you could try a firewall that monitors all incoming and outgoing connections - if you notice there is one that is unusual (sending somewhere you don't recognize), you could block it. Of course, you should probably check out the place on google to make sure you're not walling something important (like your anti-virus programs)... But that would be my suggestion (in addition to everything that everyone else has said). >_<

The safest thing to do would be format, but I would only use that if you don't have anything relevant/vital to your work/life (receipts/photoshop documents/etc./etc.)

 

I had same problem, but more stranger. Because there are few facts which denies possibility of keylogger/account information.
