    Should alcohol be banned?

That is the same thing as saying:

    - should porn be banned?
    - should marijuana be banned?
    - should the right to protest be banned?

Simple answer is no. Alcohol is a choice.

    Should alcohol be banned?

No. My reasoning? Alcohol isn't the problem, the way people treat it is what's wrong.

    Should alcohol be banned?

No. The consumption of alcohol is too firmly embedded in our culture. Prohibition didn't work in the 20's, it won't work now. If it were to be made illegal, an additional hundreds of thousands of people would be incarcerated, and organized crime would reap massive profits. It simply isn't logistically feasible.

H2O has killed thousands due to over consumption as well, we should ban it as it is obviously a menace to society many more will die.

Just because they can't tax weed is not the only reason it is illegal. Marijuana could replace much fabrics and be much less expensive to use which would cripple many peoples jobs. Albeit marijuana does require a fair amount of care you don't need as many to watch over marijuana as you do to work fabric.

Should alcohol be banned? No, firstly it is impossible to do so, look at prohibition and how well that worked. Secondly, alcohol is not purely used for consumption, it is in daily household products such as mouth wash and rubbing alcohol for wounds.

Rubbing alcohol, hand sanitizer, ethanol, etc, are extremely toxic, because it is a type of alcohol the body cannot handle. During Russia's commy days, people drank rubbing alcohol out of desperation and often went blind or died.

Eh, its hemp that is grown for fabric/paper. Its legal to grow hemp in some states. Hemp isn't grown all that much in the US, but we import loads of it. Its already used quite often for clothing and paper. Hemp wouldn't replace fabric, it'd just be another viable material, like cotton.

You could tax pot. If you only legalized marijuana growing to certain
licensed (i.e. taxed) growers, you could reap tax revenues from them, but crack down on other growops.

Ethanol is in lots of household products, but often its cut with small amounts of methanol to keep people from drinking it. Sure; you can get drunk off listerine, but you'll get seriously sick. Large amounts of methanol consumption is fatal.

    Should alcohol be banned?

I enjoy alcohol. but let's ignore that. Alcohol is dangerous, a month ago I got alcohol poisoning myself. It was so bad that my heart stopped, and I'm lucky I'm alive. I don't remember anything from that night. I think it should be illegal, seeing all the damage it does to society and people's health. All the deaths from alcohol poisoning, drunk driving, etc. Although it does make alot of revenue for the goverment. Although, if alcohol is made illegal, I believe marijuana should be made legal.

No, responsible drinkers shouldnt suffer because idiots drink and drive.
Its like banning certain prescription drugs because some people are addicted to them.

    Should alcohol be banned?

No, if you look at the alcohol related deaths, most of them are the drinkers fault, that's why the have laws against driving drunk. It is not the governments responsibility to hold your hand through life. Alcohol has been a huge part of this country, and just because people are starting to abuse it does not mean it should be banned. If alcohol should be banned, then cigarettes should also be banned. They kill as many if not more than alcohol every year, the difference is the people that die via alcohol had the option not to drive/etc. You can not take my civil liberties because of law breakers.

Drinking age 18, but allowed for any child over 12 upon parents consent. That's my view. Should be better laws on enforcing drunks that buy more beer after being completely wasted and driving. Every time I go into a gas station I see a wasted truck driver buying another 24 pack.

Then I hear on the news that someone I went to highschool got hit by a drunk driver and I think.. Wow..

    Should alcohol be banned?

I think the opposite should happen. I think the drinking age should be lowered to 18. Honestly, i think a LOT less kids would binge drink if it was legal at 18. It is only dangerous because drinking is hidden from adults and unsupervised. I think it's mainly considered "cool" because it's illegal.

The drinking age in Australia is 18. We still binge drink, quite a lot actually.

Is money the only variable you pay attention to when making your decision?

Crazy thought. Should be like a driving license. Not that you have to do a test and take drinking lessons... but you can be refused alcohol over the fact that you've been too drunk in public before, that kind of stuff.

    Should alcohol be banned?

Yes, the amount of deaths and problems caused by alcohol far exceed the other effects of some illegal drugs.

    1. Alcohol can kill you if consumed in large quantities.
    2. Alcohol results in a lack of judgement, which can ruin almost everything in your life, as well as kill you.
    3. Alcohol-related car crashes make up the majority of car crashes every day.
    4. Alcohol is addicting, when some illegal drugs, marijuana for instance, or even tobacco, is not.
    5. It is illegal to drive after consuming alcohol, is that not enough?
