How Do I Prevent Computer Noises When Botting? Help please!

I really want to bot overnight but my mom can not sleep because of the the "humming" sound the computer males. It sounds like a fan, and it only makes that sound when it is being used heavily.

If I can find a way to stop this, I can bot overnight :D I have this problem with RSBuddy and Nexus (Perfect Fighter).

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

try running less amounts of bots if your computer has to turn on its fans to keep the processor cool.

How many bots are you running at one time? It could be what Hockeyfan pointed out, and just need to run less bots.

Don't do it. Pretty off-topic but your electric bill will double if you leave it on all day and night for a week/month or however you want to do it for.

1 bot. I run one bot.

And it only makes this sound when I make my computer work. Like if I open a firefox browser tab, it won't do anything but if I open 10 websites, then it might make this sound. So far I've only noticed it when I run a bot.

It's your computer Uses more cpu etc, so it kicks in the fanmode to help cool it down etc to keep it from overheating, only way to avoid it is to get a better computer, or switch to water-cooled.

edit- or move the computer to a different part of the house.

I live in a Condo so I don't pay electric or hydro.

And I can't move the computer. Anything I can do to make it use less CPU?

Best way is to replace the CPU fan with a liquid-cooled system. These use mineral oils (not water) to cool the CPU, so the need for a fan is all but eliminated. http://newegg.com has some decent ones, and replacing them is pretty easy. If you're running a stock PC system (like one from Best Buy), your case might not support additional fans, however.

Next-best way is to find a standard CPU fan that is known to produce little sound. They don't get much better than stock fans, however. You would benefit from cleaning out the current fan so that the motor can run smoothly. Buy a can of compressed air from any electronics department (they're like $6-10), unplug the computer and open the side of the case. Blow out all of the hardware components, especially the CPU fan (usually right in the middle of the motherboard) and the PSU fan (where the computer plugs into an electrical cable), as well as any extra fans that the case might have.

Another way is to decrease how much CPU the bots are running. In nexus, find the Global Settings tab and turn them all the way to the right. In RSBuddy, enable both of the Use Less CPU options. Using less CPU means it produces less heat, and the fans can run more slowly.

Depends on the bot. The developers test their bots on priority as "normal," so changing it so that it allocates less CPU may bring forth bugs. For example, a fighter bot might all of a sudden not eat food, or it might mis-click the bank over and over. I really don't recommend setting priority to low, to be honest.

Changing program priorities will not help. Buy your own PC or don't bot through the night

If you computer is making noises running 1 bot then you got a problem. The computer is making noises because the CPU is getting overworked and more heat is coming from it. That means the CPU Fan has to run more to keep it cooler. Pres Ctrl+Alt+Del and go to Performance tab. What is your CPU running at? Also sometimes you can fiddle with the cpu fan and wedge it tighter or put pressure on it and will take the sound away.

I am guessing your computer is a small form factor one?

Those will get loud and hot and there is nothing you can do about that unless you switch to a different cooling method.

A sff computer is not worth switching cooling methods. Your investment to imporove the computer won't be as wise as just buying gold.

You can buy an aftermarket CPU heatsink and fan, aswell as other fans.

Look for fans that spin at low RPM and are advertised as "Silent" .

It could also be the sound of your hard drive spinning so investing in an SSD (solid state drive) . . . . Your rig could be virtually silent.

Just don't run any other program overnight, all you need is your bot (which you should keep at default priority)

The fan would be ramping up to help cool the CPU as it's put under more load.
Get an aftermarket heatsink or don't bot.

Well first and foremost, make sure there is a lot of breathing space for the computer, don't set it against anything.
Also, take a can of suppressed air and clean the inside.
