Dealing with Blackmail -Worse thing he can do?

Ok , I've sold this runescape account to a guy 2 months ago and the password was changed yesterday. He had the account for 2 months and his planning to chargeback even tho I had nothing to do with it. I offered to give the account back , he refused so I have never recovered the account so it was his fault. (note this is not anybody from sythe) Just a guy i knew for 2 years.

ok so he sent me this

I've just had words with paypal customer services as well as my bank. I've exchanged conversation logs from MSN to my bank manager, and he's told me I can take out a VISA dispute. I hope you know what that is. Now, as you're a sly fucker. You asked me to send the money as a gift. Thinking that you've made yourself safe. However, that isn't the case. Due to the logs, it's evident that you've conned me out of £30. And that the money wasn't a gift. That proves that for the money, you were due to give to me a product. Which you haven't given. That's fraud. And it's illegal.
So I'm giving you a chance here. You've 24 hours to put my money back into my account (£30GDP/$45.50(AUD) or I'll be taking out a Visa dispute which will get me the money back anyway. But it'll be very complicated for you, and as it's fraud, it can get you into a lot of trouble. No matter where you are in the world, and no matter where I am, it's still fraud. And you can get done for it.
If I haven't received an E-Mail (or payment) by this time tomorrow morning (9AM-GMT), I'm going straight to the bank to pursue this, and take my word for it, I will succeed. Just because you're 4000 miles away, it doesn't mean I can't do anything. Because I've done my research, and you're in the wrong. Do the right thing and give the money back, or you know what's going to happen. I know deep down, you're a nice guy, and you felt bad for screwing me over like that, So do the right thing. Don't make me get all these third parties involved, because it's making it more difficult for me, yes. But a shit load more difficult for you.

    Do the right thing,
    Keir.

    ----------------------------------

Reply back with some suggestions because i will be in risk in losing money and also this guy that bought from me in sythe recently if it gets chargebacked , I will be in risk losing money from my paypal and the risk of other peoples money.

I WILL DO EVERYTHING IN MY POWER to stop it

The Chat logs were from 2 different msns and there is no proof him talking to me from my paypal msn.

To be honest, It's virtual goods. Neither you, him or third-parties can prove whether he owns the goods or not. In experience with paypal, they'll most likely give it in your favour if he claims to have not received the goods.

You'll probably lose the dispute but I would wait and see what happens.

As for as PayPal goes... They will most likely side with YOU. Reason? They dislike virtual good sales.. They may even place limits on both your accounts. No proof can be given to either party, also if you used gift then PayPal would be like "wtf" lol

Anyways good luck with that and update us on how it goes.

Paypal doesn't like people dodging their fees using "gift" payments, also they don't cover/give a rats ass about virtual goods trades. I doubt your going to win this dispute..

this is LOL. the supposed "blackmail" is PRO! but meh.. paypal doesnt give a shit. and since this was sent as gift, paypal would simply be like "huh, why would you send something as gift in the first place? when you're buying a good. sinister muchh?" lol!

    Eerrrm no...
Paypal very often support the side of the buyer, it doesn't matter how the money was sent. If he has sufficient proof then he should be fine, if not then it looks bad for him.

I'm calling bullshit on this guy, he probably tried to chargeback then found out he couldn't, so he's using this threat to try and get you to pay him back by your own accord. Give him the account details, then say no more to him. There's no reason for you to refund him if you did not take the account back and are offering to get it back for him anyway..
