How to middleman a Sythe.org trade

Trades, especially those with a Middleman are taken very seriously on Sythe.org.
Without a Middleman, the system would most likely fail, but without a proper middleman, it would be impossible.

Step 1: Finding Clients

• First and foremost, clients must be found. You can begin by creating a thread here in the Middleman Forums. Try to include tags at the beginning and end of your title that state your advantages. This includes [Trusted][Moderator][Donor] etc. These are not necessary, but are preferred on a personal basis.
• You're going to want to make your thread attractive. You can purchase a thread layout in the graphics section, or you can make it yourself. Be sure to in your thread use color, speak professionally, and be simple yet complete.
• You cannot pm users or post in thread threads to be their middleman. Feel free to ask your friends on msn if they'd like you to middleman any future trades. Set your status to "middlemanning," and edit your signature on Sythe to advertise. There are plenty of ways to get the word out!

Step 2: Confirming the trade

• You must confirm the trade on Sythe between the two users. You should make sure that they list each others information as well as their own, that the imformation (their Sythe names and Msn's. If you're not communicating via msn, remember that only Msn, Skype, Yahoo and Aim are viable methods of trading on Sythe. You must use these applications and not joint messaging services like Meebo.) is correct, and screenshot it along with the time of the screenshot and posts. This is an appropriate screenshot.
• Be sure to double, even TRIPLE check that you're talking with the right people. As a middleman, you will be attempted to be tricked a lot, as well as it being your responsibility if the trade goes sour.

Step 3: Receiving the wealth

• You must now screenshot yourself getting the wealth from both parties of the trade, or in some cases, one party receiving the wealth while you hold onto the other party's items.
• Most users prefer not to undertake paypal as a middlemanning option, for chargebacks will personally set you back. Just because a trader charges you back down NOT give you permission to charge the other trader's money back.
• This is an example of you receiving wealth from a player in-game.
• This is an example of one user sending another the wealth while you hold onto the third user's wealth.
• This is an example of receiving the wealth via private message on Sythe.

Step 4: Redistributing the wealth

• It is now your duty to swiftly (after complete verification of both players' wealth being transferred correctly) to document both players receiving their side of the trade. This is an example of a user being documented receiving proof. Paypal receipts are also legitimate.

Step 5: Complete the trade

• Your last duty as a middleman is to assure that both users are content with the trade. This is not only your duty as a good middleman, but will assist your application in numerous ways.
• This is a prime example of both users stating their opinions of the outcome of the trade. You should now have completed your job, and make sure that you keep all proof of this trade for future references.

Official MiddleMan

• I'm sure you've seen the rank. An Official Middleman is a highly respected and highly trusted user that has been through a rigorous application process in order to wear their rank.
• OMM's are not only paid for every trade, they have special access to their own forum, their own rank (shown at the top of this guide) and the reward of being highly trusted.
• Becoming an OMM is not easy, but is possible. You must complete over 20 trades worth thousands of dollars in overseen wealth:
  • 5 trades for anything up to $50*.
  • 5 trades for anything between $50 and $100*.
  • 5 trades for anything at or over $100*.
  • 3 trades for anything at or over $200*.
  • 1 trade for anything at or over $350*.
  • 1 trade for anything at or over $550*.
• You must follow these requirements for your application.
• Here is an example of a near perfect and completely filled out application. It was accepted, and that user is now an Official MiddleMan. Note that the requirements are different now.

Scammers and Impostors

• The reason you're a MiddleMan in the first place is for players to avoid these problems, so it's your job to make these checks.
• Scammers are going to have a difficult time when you're dealing with a middleman, and you most likely won't need to face this problem. Do not fall for anything, and stick to your rules. As a middleman, the trade should be 100% secure and scamproof from both sides unless the case of a paypal chargeback, which is unfortunately out of your hands.
• If a user is scammed, you should help them by providing as much information from the trade as possible. Make sure that they report the scam here.

• Impostors are notorious for their creativity. They will try numerous methods to get you to believe that they are someone else. Make sure that you always check every private message for validity, and that both you and their msn's are included.

Types of Trades

• With Sythe being a site for trading about ANYTHING, there are several ways to middleman. The way I have shown above applies loosely for almost any method of trading. I will list exceptions below:
  
• Physical items for online funds
  • You can chose how you'd like to do this. The best option would be for you to receive the item as the middleman, wait for the money to be transferred, and ship the item to the other user.
  • You should ask politely for the users to cover outgoing shipping costs.
• RuneScape Accounts*
  • Recovery test are sometimes wanted by users. Most middlemen charge a small fee for this service.
    During account trades, recovery tests are an additional mesaure of security. The process is simple:
    • You'll want to receive all information for the account in question.
    • Next, you'll recover the account as though you were the original owner.
    • Some users will wish for the email and/or recovery questions to be changed. You can follow this simple guide to complete this task.
    • You'll then change the information to the buyer's preference (make sure you don't tell him the password before the other user's funds are secured!) and give that information to the buyer, keeping it from the seller.

Now that you're armed with the knowledge, get out there! Being a middleman is a very respectable part of our community, and is a great way to get involved. Don't be discouraged by the strenuous Official MiddleMan applications, but be sure to document your proof and work up the ranks!

This is basically just a guide for Cash-Rsgp trades. Maybe add in somthing about Recovery Checks, as im still unsure of what they are.

I must admit I did not read everything, but this looks neat!

 

Nice guide there read about 90% of it
Things you should add is that the trader's should always pm the MM first with there msn/aim/skype name they are useing to avoid them trying to get you to pm someone who is not them. Always pm saying the msn address you are on or skype etc etc.

Also peoples paypal addres emails may be diffrent to there msn get them to confirm that in a pm/screenshot aswell

and finally put up an example of how to do proofs and screenshot and collect the vouchs in a OMM application layout style, use one of your own or go look in the accepted MM applications as an example
