I really didn't want to create a 9/11 thread, but I'm just wondering where you were when it happened, and what your reaction to it was.

It may seem like a real weird question, but it seems like everyone remembers, and it's always fascinating to hear.

As well, rest in peace to everyone in the towers, and all of those brave firefighters and policemen who risked their lives to save others. True heroes.

I was in like first grade but I remember waking up early in the morning and seeing my parents watching TV and crying. I didn't really understand much at the time though.

I also remembered my teacher and the other teachers that day telling us "something terrible has happened" they didn't go into detail but they were sad.

    I was only 11 , Had just started secondary school ( UK ) ..

I remember coming home from school and my mam telling me of the disaster then watching it on TV for days on end, Before 9/11 I was aware of the twin towers & was amazed at the shear size of them.

On September the 16th me and my family flew to Florida for the third time, Every park we went to was empty which was great, but obviously the cause of it was disgusting.

I lived in a different country and remember hearing about it the day after. Didn't affect me all that much. Although it's terrible that it happened.

I don't remember what I was doing at the time, but I was just reading some articles and watching videos about it yesterday. It's quite depressing and it's a very horrific incident.

R.I.P Those who died on that day.

I watched when it happened at home, but like most, I was young and somewhat oblivious as to what was really going on. On a personal note, my uncle is a pilot so it was pretty scary not hearing from him for a while.

Likewise, I had just gotten up to go to school (I live in Western Canada) and I remember hearing about the news from my mom, and she was absolutely shocked, then she had CNN news on, in which I found out what was happening and saw the video of the plane crashing into Tower 1/2

I was in 5th grade and when the first plane hit a teacher ran into our classroom and turned on the TV and we watched the second plane hit and the towers collapse. It was pretty brutal to watch so many people dying all at once. I just remember the teachers were like all crowded in our room watching it and crying. I didn't fully understand the seriousness of it until much later though. I feel really bad whenever I think about it.

I had just gone with my mom to drop my dad off somewhere, and I asked my mom why the plane in the sky turned around. Weird stuff.
