Is there any balance in P2P pking? F2P seems more balanced...

I have a nearly maxed chaotic zerker and I have been sick of P2P pking. I originally wanted to be an edge pker. I got vengeance and a chaotic maul and I felt I was doing pretty good. Then I started to encounter more and more rushers. Also there are the kids that use a whip or something and then venge and pull out claws right away and teleport if they fail. I die to this sort of thing more than I die in regular fights. Eventually I got smited for my chaotic maul from a pjer right after I killed someone. Got it back now but I still regret going to edge with it ever. Next I moved on to some rushing. I wanted to get back at the rushers who took my maul. I tried double korasi rushing and it was basically like doing a weaker claw rush but on rushers who risk a lot more. I am sure if I continued it I would have eventually gotten some claws and a fury or something similar. I got downed however, after two mages saw me rush someone I got TB/barraged. GF torso/firecape/vigour.

This is what I mean about P2P pking now. Getting a kill is a matter of getting two lucky specs, or landing a lucky veng combo. The other kills you might get from P2P are just being in the right place at the right time to PJ someone. I also have 99 Mage, and with a chaotic rapier I tried some hybriding with 3 friends. All was going good, we didn't get much action, and when we did we completely destroyed them by tag team or just because we were higher level. Then one day at easts we run into a clan of about 20 Ahrims bridders with turm/ss. I basically said GF void right away as I was void hybriding. Sure enough I couldnt even make it 4 levels lower so they couldnt hit me because of combat level. I was hit by a claw spec of almost 800 damage after being TB/Barraged.

So these have been my experiences with P2P pking. Sure there are times when it is a good fight. But a long time ago, when everyone pked with Dscim/DDS, or whip/DDS, and the rich kids had AGS's, combat was much more fair. There was this thing called skill that usually decided the winner. So many times on my account I pot up for a fight pre-venged, click them with my maul and I combo them without having to eat once. This isn't what pking used to be about... My question for you guys is this: is there any kind of P2P pking that relies heavily on skill and less on having a huge unfair advantage over someone? I have been looking for it and the best I can find is duel arena bridding. I have been F2P pking recently and with gravite weapons I think they feel the same way. However, they are not nearly as bad as P2P. In fact, in one day of F2P pking with Rune scim/Rune 2H I made a PK tab of about 2M. I downed kids 7 levels above me in F2P because I timed my 2H slightly better or had a better switch. All I know is if I cant find any good P2P action I am going to be doing some intense F2P pking...

What are your opinions on P2P pking?

 

There has allways been pjers in edge and allways will be now its claws it was tb then blitz/barrage after you got a kill.

Only thing i hate nowdays is those new prayers (probably not new for you but are for me lol) i came back to rs while back, got 70 prayer for piety, smashed it up a few weeks then boom they release some next level prayers lol surfice to say i got fuuuuuuuuuucked up and quit again, i just thinks its bollocks because you cant pk without some fucking expensive gear and some serious cash for prayer, vesta, barrows or whatever you can use now, or skilling (dungeoneering) like fuck for some chaotic rapier shit.

also would like to add i cant stand the fact you cant pk at mage bank either now with out some fucking summoning monster to hold your food for you.

i do enjoy p2p pking but no where near as much as i used to, 23 sharks super set and and two prayer pots, whip, dds or even better good old d long and a rune set (Y)

Pking is not what it used to be. If my maxed range tank with dfs t helm and veracs skirt can get comboed out by a kid with 60 attack and turmoil then there`s obviously a problem.

 

I can totally put myself in your shoes. I'm going to buy myself a decent f2p 1 def pure maybe next week, and all I'm going to do is f2p pk 24/7. Nothing much else to do in this shitgame called grindscape.

 

Thanks for your opinions guys, I really thought I was the only one getting this shit. I am about to make another F2P pker. But this time I think I am going to get 99 Strength/Attack with 1 Prayer.

 

Yeah definitely dude. F2P pking is definitely excellent, but it is quite boring without all the special things that P2P has with it. Though, you don't have to put as much effort in with a F2P pker, which is excellent, and you don't need to spend upwards of 300M+ to prepare an account to go Edge Pking.

 

I only pk F2P because I just do'nt have the money to get those prayers, nor the patience/bot to train dung, nor the money to buy claws . The only things I know about p2p pking from just standing in edge and watching, but I don't think I could enjoy it.

I like F2P pking, it may be a bit slower and you definatly shouldn't do it for the money, but in my opinion it's more fun. Altho I think it's a shame there's only action in edge. It's like the wildy stops after level 10 or something. People should be forced to go deeper into the wild.

 

P2P has been a special bar skill pking system for a long time... you can kill someone in 2 spec hits... which is really sad. Things need to be nerfed in pvp.

 

I own a maxed turm zerker, I rarely play on it.. 112 combat and i just get destroyed by whoever i fight..

Currently in the progress of making a tank, currently 99 range 40 defence, getting veng and hand cannon as we speak.. Also 92 dung for xbows.

I am hoping i see a lot more kills than deaths using this account but from experience I'm probably still going to get owned =[
