    I need a new computer.

I am looking for something that can run ~10 bots at a time with me still using it to Sythe, MSN, Facebook, listen to music, Watch a movie or whatever.

How much would this roughly cost and what specs would you recommend ?
I would also like to ability to expand my hardware later on.

    Let me know, Thanks.

    I need a new computer.

    Standard CD/DVD combo drive:

    Case:

    i5 2500k CPU:

    Hyper 212+ CPU Cooler:

    ASRock EXTREME4 GEN3 motherboard:

    Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600 RAM (2 sets, 8GB each set):
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233147
    EVGA GTX 560 Ti (Superclocked):

    Corsair TX750 PSU:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139021

    Grand Total: $1,098.11

This could be scaled down quite a bit if it's way out of your budget. I only went with the hardware I did because you said you would want to expand later on. The 560 Ti GPU isn't needed for just botting, but if you wanna do any gaming it will be a great card. You could go with an AMD setup for cheaper but at the cost of performance/longevity. I wouldn't go with any less than 12GB of RAM for what you said you want to do. It's best to just assume that each bot is going to eat up about 1GB of RAM in the worst case scenario, which with anything less than 12GB (but I would prefer 16GB personally) leaves you high and dry on RAM. The motherboard I included has support for the upcoming Ivy Bridge processors from Intel and PCIe 3.0 (Ivy Bridge will have a PCIe 3.0 controller, so I'd expect PCIe 3.0 cards sometime after Ivy is released)

If this is too much just give me a budget and I'll see what I can do from there.

Honestly, the above post is way excessive for your needs. I have 8GB RAM and I can easily run 15+ bots. 16GB is NOT necessary for 10 bots. Furthermore, a GTX 560 is seriously not needed for your requirements, unless you plan on running mid-high end games, you won't be needing that. i5 2500k is nice, but again, you really don't need that for a primarily botting PC. The guy above me should probably tone it down a bit, lol.

    I need a new computer.

Did you even read anything other than the parts lol? You basically just repeated my paragraph at the end

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you probably don't run 15+ bots with 8GB RAM, considering that when I was running my army SG was taking up 500mb per bot.. Try running 15+ SW bots with 8GB RAM. Guarantee it won't work. He didn't give specifics, I went with a worst case scenario. You're also forgetting he wants to browse the internet (assuming at least a couple tabs), MSN, music, and watch movies all while botting. Not to mention Windows 7 takes up about 1.3GB of RAM. Again, try doing 15 or even 10 bots like he said he wanted on 8GB of RAM while multitasking like that. Guaranteed failure. I mentioned the 560 Ti is unnecessary for botting. I mentioned AMD being cheaper etc. Also he wanted to 'futureproof' his system. Anything from AMD currently will not allow you to do that. Bulldozer has been delayed time and time again, most likely because it can't compete with SB much less IB. Therefore the 2500k + 1155 socket is obviously the smarter choice unless he's trying to build an ultimate botting PC for like $400.

I don't mean to sound snooty it just irks me that you didn't bother to read what I had to say lol

Holy fuck, I did not expect someone to go this deep into detail, thanks!
I won't be playing any high-quality games with it, I am an 'old school' kinda guy, even right now I am listening to my record player.
What can I do with a budget of ~500-700 ?

    I need a new computer.

$500 won't get you much, $700 is decent.

IMO if you wanna cut money off Ivy's build, drop down to a 650w PSU, get a 5670 & drop the mobo down.

    I need a new computer.

No problem, anytime. Thanks for the budget, I've come up with this:

    CD/DVD combo drive:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827151233
    Antec Three Hundred Case:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129042
    Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 RPM:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148697
    AMD Phenom II X4 965:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727
    ASUS M5A97 AM3+ Motherboard:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131767
    PowerCooler Radeon HD 6770:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131434
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB, two sets of 2x4GB):
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145345
Cooler Master Hyper 212+ CPU Cooler:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065
    Corsair TX650 V2 Power supply:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139020

    Grand Total: $710.51

I had to go with an AMD CPU to meet budget restraints but that processor is no pushover. I also chose to go with an AM3+ motherboard for future expansion. The new "Bulldozer" CPUs from AMD are due out in the relatively near future (though it keeps being delayed) and also will be using the AM3+ CPU socket. Since you are not a high end gamer, I went with a Radeon HD 6770 because it will pretty much max out any game that's not very recent. It should have enough power even for games like Call of Duty if you ever desired to play it. Both the card and your motherboard also support CrossfireX, which allows you to put in another 6770 and use them in conjunction to increase your graphics performance. It's not 100% scaling, but it definitely would breathe some new life into your system a few years down the road. I still say 16GB would be preferable since you want to run many bots but if you wanted you could only buy one set, but keep in mind the likelihood of running 10 bots + doing general tasks on your PC with only 8GB isn't too high :/

    I need a new computer.

This^^ I built my own computer a months ago from a range of parts off Newegg, it was a pain but it's very much worth it. I spent a grand total of about $950.00, looking back if I had bought it prebuilt it would of been $2,000.00. You'll be much happier building your own machine!

Lol I'm unemployed atm, currently in college. My major is computer science though. Even at that though, 90% of everything I know I've learned just from personal building experience / browsing forums for info. It's not hard stuff, just a lot of memorizing.

I don't know why you would spend over $1,000 to buy a computer to run bots. You could buy a good liquid cooling system, power supply and a few gigabytes of ram and you can run around 10 at a time.

So you're telling me liquid cooling + RAM + power supplies are all that are needed to run bots?

And good liquid cooling is gonna run you a hell of a lot more than $1k unless you buy one of the crappy prefilled kits. I use the H60 personally and can honestly tell you it sucks.

    I need a new computer.

If you're still looking, mine can do this easily for 900 dollars.

    http://pastebin.com/66p1Phxr

It's called an ASUS G series. Optimized for gaming when you need it, as well as battery conservation when necessary. Great cooling system, ran it all night and didn't have an over heating problem.. not even close. It's tough too.

    The only two downsides are;
it's giant. It's 17", and it's bigger than my shitty little tube television in my bedroom :>
And the mousepad is occasionally dysfunctional... a factory defect I suppose, nothing a portable wireless mouse wouldn't fix. It doesn't do it often, and putting the computer in hibernate and turning it back on fixes it.

I'll find a link and PM you it if you're interested in this computer. I'd recommend it.

Quite a few of those items have promo codes as well, so it would probably be like $950 in the end. I had a little bit of budget left over and decided to go with a little bit better case than before, but you can bump it back down if you want. I also went with a better graphics card with the increased budget, it's still not top of the line but it should play pretty much any game you throw at it decently (older games maxed out, new games probably on like medium settings). With the increased budget I was able to go Intel, which is far superior imo simply for the overclocking ability + better architecture. With that CPU + CPU cooler, you should be able to reach 4.0GHz easy, probably even higher.

If you need anything else or want anything adjusted on the build let me know and I'll be happy to do it.

I can vouch for the CMaster hyper 212+, I use it myself with my i5 750 and it provides a dramatic change from the stock cooler. I used to be constantly hitting 60-70C temps under medium load, with the 212+ it's more like 35C. Huge change, definitely worth while. Bear in mind it's pretty big though, so I hope the case fits it, I had to take the side fan off my NZXT Hades just to fit it.
