I don't know a whole lot about computer but with recent updates to bot clients being able to use WAY less CPU.

I'd happily say - a lot.

Intel i7 is a really good Processor, and 24Go RAM is a lot too.
i'd say easily 30+.

 

cpu will max out b4 ram, I'd say 30 MAX, w/o anything else running and very low-cpu bots.

also I HIGHLY recommend getting a good case + LOADS of fans, not cheap ones, because you'll need great cooling if you want stable and powerful system

 

Right now I'd say your minimum would be 15 and max would be around 40. Both bottlenecked by CPU

I'd go with a Phenom II x6 because the 6 cores can better handle the large number of threads. i7 will be solid as well. Do you plan on overclocking?

Don't need a graphics card for botting. Don't get this unless you're also planning on playing other games.

Too much ! With your processor you wont be able to use all on bots without lagging!

 

It also depends on what kind of bots (nexus, rsbuddy, etc), what your botting (sw, dung, etc), and what operating system your running.

Idk much about cpu and shit, but I'm sure you could get 40 bots running with the right clients and the right thing to bot.

 

Will be updating this in a sec with a second set of specs, completely different to the first ones, so thoughts are also appreciated.

 

You'll get 30-35 bots from that.. although you have ALOT of uneccessary hardware which is basically tripling the price you pay to run these bots.

I don't know why you don't listen to me tbh.. you want to run bots and use the PC yourself? Don't bother - you will run into a lot of problems. If you go opening stuff when your CPU usage is already high.. you will get lag/freezes and alsorts of problems (unless you have the best RAM in the world and everything is all tweaked perfectly for optimum performance)
You should have a botting rig then a seperate computer for yourself.. this is the setup most people use.

I spent 300 pounds on mine and it's able to run the exact same number of bots as yours..

 

Everything there, par the graphics card is needed for botting. I need a good motherboard to support the high quality ram, and also support many other functions, the processor though not the best, is top end and so there the motherboard is also needed.
The fan costs £90, but I'd rather over compromise than be cut short and find my pc constantly over-heating.
The ram itself set me back about £250, £150 more expensive than 24gb low quality ram [1400]
The processor will ofc be oc too.
This computer's sole purpose is botting, I'd occasionally use it for homework and the minor pc game, but with all components it should be able to handle it.

I've been considering upgrading to 6 core i7 processor, and try and oc that if possible. Or even getting the i7 extreme.

 

Then you are going about this the wrong way..

Firstly - you'll get a good MOBO, with lots of features, OCing support etc for £60.. there is absolutely no reason to buy a more expensive one. My £60 board has everything you want in yours.

Secondly - You don't need to buy high speed/expensive RAM (I told you this before in PM). CL9 RAM will more than suffice for botting.. and you don't need more than 8GB.. which costs about £50-£60

Thirdly - Why buy another graphics card, when an onboard one on a £60 motherboard (as per my setup) is enough to run 30 x RS clients.

4th point - The stock fan you get with your CPU will keep your computer cool even at full load, when running 30 bots.. so you only need if you decide to OC.

5th point - I wouldn't even bother OCing - it's alot of hassle trying to make the system stable. Seeing as you are a noob to all this, it will be a nightmare for you do do yourself.. and for the sake of running an extra 5-10 bots (and at a cost of £90) it's not really worth it.

I would just buy 2 or 3 low cost rigs, capable of running 90 bots in total for £1000.

 

Before I brought my comp people were telling me 15-20 but it only does 9-11 depending on which bots I use. Just giving you a heads up incase its not all you expected it to be.

I think getting few pcs would work better, just get a 6-core AMD CPU and about 8-12 GB of ram, I can run 15 bots on 8gig of ram and 6-core amd cpu, which is not overclocked.
