Perm ban as a first offense.

An IRL friend of mine just got a PERM ban for macroing, this was his first offense.
Before you ask, yes, he was a member.

Mostly botting PC and other skills using >FREE< scripts.
This shouldn't matter for the severity of the ban, so let this be a warning.

 

Thats wierd, I thought JaGeX gave up on banning people, I've been going basically 24/7 on my main for so long now lol.

I'm pretty sure I've been reported a couple times too.

 

Bans come and go.

Just do not stop botting lol

 

It's fairly luck based - I have been autoing 10+ accounts 24/7 for months now without any bans.

 

oh sorry i missed that part, how long had he been botting?

 

For a month or two, never the same skill/activity for more then a day.

 

Very strange. Could have just been his bad luck, or maybe he had some offences he somehow didn't know about or something

 

was he a maxed account? or what level? where was he when he got banned

 

The same thing has happened to one of my accounts. I wonder why.

 

It's up to Jagex to decide to perm or temp ban.

 

I have personally logged in to read his dispute, it was his first and final offence.
Not even a offensive language one.

It is automated though, as far as I knew everybody got a temp ban first.
EVEN the fully botted accounts.

 

Damn, I just botted 80 dung and 99 fletching on my main. I was planning on botting to 99 dungeoneering but I guess I wont :/

 

Was it of a higher or lower total level.

 

It's all about luck. What was he botting? I got perm banned botting flax 24/7 on a throwaway.

Regardless: EVERYONE who bots should be aware of the risk.

 

I've botted about 50M XP on my main with free scrips. No ban. Jagex please try harder

 

i bot 24/7 every day for past couple months... no ban for me =]

 

That is weird. Although I doubt they have resumed banning.

 

I did ranged guild on my main, which was 130+ at the time, don't remember exact combat level, but this was in the middle of July. I thought it was funny because there was only one other person at ranged guild with me, and just the other day there were 30+ people botting it. Guess what? Ranged guild = mass bann'd. I got a temp ban for 2 weeks, but no rollback & no change on my bank.
