Should I stop smoking pot?

Pretty much title, I'm 15 and have been smoking pot for about 6 months.
I've seen people say young kids can't handle it, but more often then not when I smoke pot all I really do is make something to eat go upstairs, eat and then smoke then go to sleep like an hour or 2 later. I've told my Mom and my sister, my Mom isn't exactly condoning it she knows when I get high but doesn't say anything. So my question is, Should I stop and if so why?

Supposedly its's worse for you before you're brain has matured. I started at around your age and I've never noticed any major side effects.

 

Well, I would suggest to stop just because of your mother. You are too young, grow up a bit, when you will live by your own, you will do what you want. As long as you are under your parents dependence, you should not do this, at least that much and so visible.

 

I have nothing against smoking weed but I don't believe you should be smoking it on a regular basis at 15. Actually, you probably shouldn't smoke ANYTHING on a regular basis, just for health concerns. I'd say you should respect your mother's wishes at least until you're 18 as well. If you only smoke as a social thing like on the weekends when you're partying or whatever, I see no problem. Just getting high to get high is pretty stupid though imo.

You wouldn't, lol. That's why people continue smoking it. Cognitively you may never notice anything, but the fact is you're killing braincells and becoming dumber.

.Steam., I would highly recommend you stop smoking weed. Although people argue it's addictive components, the fact is it is addicting to some. Furthermore, it does make you dumber in the long run. Occasionally smoking it would be a better option (once a month?), although quitting completely would be even better! Think of it this way: you're poisoning your body. I would stop it before there's permanent damage.

 

I'd stop. Once you start you won't be able to stop and it will follow you for your entire life, and high people can just be plane stupid. So gl in school/ect being high all the time. stop.

 

I started around when I was 13 (yeah I know young) after a month I decided to stop wasn't for me at that time. Now I just do it off and on with friends. If you don't like it don't do it.

I just do it every now and again, I think it's better that way, you feel more of a high if you take breaks anyway.

 

Started at 14...really got into it at 15. I don't regret anything I still do it.. Im not known as a "burnout" around school ect. I keep it on the down low lol.

And I also probably should have mentioned that my Mom smokes pot quite regularly and has no problem with me smoking she just doesn't want me high all the time. I smoke 2-3 times a week and maybe once on the weekend with friends. I'm not addicted, i like being high but life isn't shitty while I'm not high.

Edit: About the whole weed makes you dumber thing, I'm not a fucking idiot to put it simply I'm pretty smart and I get good grades in school. School shouldn't even be a factor.

I started in 5th grade. I knew an older kid who smoked and asked me if i wanted to. I'm 16 now and I still smoke. Quitting isn't a problem for me as i've quit for months at a time but I personally consider it as a hobby. Some people like to play sports some people like smoking weed. I'm not going to lie and say it hasn't affected me because it has. If you just sit in your room and smoke and play scape ect. all day you will become depressed. I know this from personal experience. Just get out of the house and walk around or something and smoke. Don't let it affect how you do in school either. It helps me relieve stress. Sorry for rambling on, but to get to the point it's all up to you. I suggest if your mother dosn't like it then don't smoke in your house. Respect your mothers house.

Okay, quitting. I know I could quit if I wanted too right now even but that's why I made this thread. And your right pot does affect you I've met a lot more people now from smoking pot, and am actually a lot more willing to meet people. My mom pretty much told me if your going to smoke, smoke in the house.

 

I smoke in my room. At first my mom was mad about it but she was being a hypocrite seeing as how she does it also. I know that she can since she's an adult but now she just says put a towel under your door because my stepdad gets butthurt when he smells it. As for meeting people, Literally about 80% of people i know i met through smoking. So Smoking weed has alot of pros/cons

 

Yes. It's not needed and it's not healthy. Take it from someone who's done it too many times and knows what it does. Honestly, it just makes you stupid.

 

Wrong. It's been known for a while that marijuana doesn't kill brain cells. It's just a myth and you can look it up if you want. It also doesn't make you permanently dumb. It only makes you dumber when you're high. Infact there is no permanent damage that is caused from smoking weed. Of course smoking anything isn't great for your lungs, but it's impossible for any person to smoke enough weed in their lifetime for it to even come close to causing any serious problems. Weed is also a plant, not a poison.

You're an idiot. Marijuana isn't physically addictive at all. If you smoke all day and everyday, then you will of course form a psychological dependency to it, but quiting is never a problem anyways considering you won't experience any phsyical withdrawals. Of course being high all the time isn't a good thing, but there is nothing at all wrong with smoking when you're just lying around doing nothing or hanging out with friends. I've been smoking for 8 years and I'm not any dumber than I was. I smoke a lot so I take a week break every few months to lower my tolerance and I've never experienced any withdrawals. I actually haven't smoked weed in almost a month now since I'm trying to pass a drug test for a job.

I see absolutely no reason why anyone shouldn't smoke if you enjoy it. Don't listen to any of the bullshit that people tell you. They more than likely have never smoked before and only know the lies that their parents tell them or what they heard in their 9th grade health class. Most of them will feel differently about it when they're older.

 

Everything in moderation... Drinking too much water also has side effects.
