    Not Desperate.

I really do not want to flunk a year; I really want to get accepted into a university when I graduate this year (please don't ask why I haven't graduated yet, that's not the point.)
the trouble is, I have about 2 months of studying left before college interviews. the interviews will be no problem at all if I study very hard and make-up for what I haven't studied.

However, the problem is that I don't feel desperate at all. I should, because I'm falling behind really badly.

I always know that I should study but once I sit in front of my desk, I lose interest and here I am, typing away at my keyboard.

What can motivate me? How can I feel the need to study?

And please, I'm serious. I beg you to only post a comment if you know what you're talking about.

Well, first of all, I don't think "desperate" is the right word here. I think you need to be motivated.

It's all up to you in the end honestly. The only thing that can make you feel more motivated to study would be taking some stimulant drugs, such as caffeine.

    Good luck.

    Not Desperate.

Heres what motivates me in college.

I paid 8 grand to be here, and if I fuck up, I'm living in my car and working back at the factory for 12$/hr.

You just need to remember what you have to lose.

Close any recreational activities so that you can focus on your studies and if your mind goes off studying, make sure not to flunk out and open recreational things. Limit yourself wisely as if you study too much, you can't really focus anymore (keep in your brain). Make sure you are in a quiet place too and keep your phone away (if you have one), that helps.

Seeing this makes me think nothing makes you "desperate." When at school do you think all day of coming home to play a RSPS, Rs, get on Sythe, or something of that nature? If so you will not be motivated until you fail. Which then of course it is to late.

You can try some things though:
    1. Set your mind to only this one thing, passing.

    2. Find inspiration in what you could achieve if you passed.

    3. Get excited about all the doors that open after graduating.

    4. Build anticipation (if you have the time).

    5. Think about it daily

    6. Get support

    7. Realize that there’s an ebb and flow

    8. Stick with it

    9. Squash negative thoughts; replace them with positive ones

My bad, I guess that "motivated" is a better word :p
you pick up a lot of weird language after living in a non-english speaking country for 6 years.

Herman: Yeah, I drink 2 cans of red bull a day; it does help a bit. But I don't want to get addicted

Adam: I don't have anything to lose, that's the problem :p

DMR: I actually have all the time in the world to study. I don't play any computer games, and all I really do on the internet is facebook. I just never really feel like studying.

    Trackster:
No, I think of coming home to study but always end up doing something else :p
I like all your advices, except number 9 is my problem
I don't have any negative thoughts and am too overconfident lol

To motivate yourself, picture yourself living at home going to a community college, while all of your peers are off at a university having a good time. Happened to me when I graduated high school
