    Vista Help

Ok so I bought a laptop last week online but I'm having a problem. When I boot it up it goes to the log in screen perfectly but when I log in the screen turns pitch black and I have to reboot it multiple times just to log on to my user. Does anyone have a solution to my problem? If not can you recommend a good free operating system I should try?

I can't think of what's wrong atm sorry but a good free OS you can use if you can't get it working is Linux.

    Was the computer used?

I have had this exact problem before. The only way I was able to fix it was to restore the computer. You would have to go to recovery mode and just restart it to an earlier time. Let me know first whether its new or used so I can help you further.
