Explanation of the trade: Searchy's worker and I made a deal of 4B OSRS gp at .18/mill which was $720. I sent, at the time, $722 + fee's for the GP. I then had to wait 8hrs to be told gold prices changed it's .20 now. We did not agree to .20 so I gave them time to get the 4b at .18/mill. Later on after I was asleep they say they have it. When I wake up they don't have it and offer 3750M which I assumed was 3750/4000M. That turned out to not be the case so I gave them back the 3750M to give more time to get the original agreed upon amount. They failed to produce the agreed upon amount again so I requested my BTC back. They are refusing to give me what I sent them minus fees and are arguing to give me the USD amount instead of what I sent, which is in their favor. At this time they would be stealing roughly $60 from me with BTC swings. I do not care if BTC went down to 50k/coin I only want what I sent minus fees.

How they scammed: Failed to deliver agreed upon gold then denied giving me my original BTC amount back.

I've purchased and sold gold to Searchy and his team since roughly 2018. I do not know what the issue is and I now see they have a buyers beware tag on their name. Now that I see that I let them send the wrong amount so I wouldn't get scammed the full amount I sent.

I also took a gif of the entire chat as it is right now. All edited pictures were edited because I'm not naive that Jagex doesn't look into websites to try to combat ToS sales. I can and will produce all unedited pictures to staff looking at the situation in a DM.

My goal is for them to send the amount that I sent and they cover fee's due to their incompetence.

My staff member made a mistake in pricing you for the 4b OSRS, which can happen. We had the gold ready for you later, but you probably were asleep which is fair. You didn't want a refund right away, but were fine with waiting up to 3 days as you said in our ticket.

Our deal was $0.18 per million, in USD. The gold was priced in USD, and Bitcoin was used solely as the payment method. We never agreed on an exact BTC amount for the full order or per unit.

Because the purchase price was fixed in USD, the transaction is considered settled once the Bitcoin payment left your wallet. Any subsequent price fluctuations in Bitcoin, whether up or down, are not factored into the refund amount. A change in the BTC/USD rate does not alter the original USD value of the order.

In other words, just as we would not refund less USD if Bitcoin’s price had fallen, we also cannot refund more USD because the price has increased. The refund simply reverses the original USD transaction.

Yesterday we also gave you the choice to receive the gold anyways if you didn't agree to the refund, but you refused to receive the gold just because you wanted the free profit on the BTC rise.

It can be heavily abused if refunds are always the same crypto amount, because a vendor could simply cancel the order if crypto drops between sending and delivery. I'm pretty sure on Sythe it's always been the rule that exact USD amounts should be refunded (unless specified otherwise). If that's not the case, then I'm happy to refund the extra amount.

A full refund of $711.81 has already been issued. The moment the crypto leaves your wallet, price fluctuations become our risk. We obviously can't refund you less USD if BTC drops either. In that case you would have reacted exactly the same way, demanding the refund to be in USD value.

You gave us plenty of time to fulfill the order as shown here, we weren't holding your money hostage and there were no ill intentions




We offered the gold to your three times, two times were shown in my previous post and then once here



You realised the BTC price jumped, then figured you preferred the free profit. You can't demand a refund just because you feel bad about missing out on profit. We said we'd pay you the gold then and there, but you refused.



Just because delivery took longer, doesn't mean you get a free call option on whatever is best for you. You don't get a choice between either free crypto profit if BTC goes up, or the gold if BTC goes down. That's simply not fair.

Also, I've messaged @Zora before this report was up for clarification on the rules, but have not had a response yet. I'm obviously willing to comply to whatever rules are in place on Sythe and I believe these are the rules.

I don't care too much about the profit on the BTC, it's more about the fact that @Zotaku would have demanded a $711.81 refund if BTC went down. And it's not fair that we should be losing on both ends, especially if it's him requesting a cancellation on the order. Not us.

You were messaging us while we were offline - I told you we would deliver your gold at 4 PM yesterday, because that's when we start selling gold. You refused.

1) After sending us money for GP, you didn't request for a refund immediately but gave us 3 days to deliver the order.
2) You made it clear there was no rush. We have a long term friendly relationship, so we were waiting on rates to drop so we could still profit on this sale. You were fine with that.
3) Within those 3 days, BTC went up and you decided you preferred free profit. You suddenly wanted a refund immediately, and were expecting it to be resolved instantly even when it's outside of our operating hours.
4) I told you we'd deliver the agreed GP amount once we started our shift. You refused. This was still within the 3 day period.
5) I asked @Zora for clarification on the rules, yet you put up a report faster than I could blink.
6) I'm not going to get bullied into sending you extra money, just because you were threatening to post a Sythe report.
7) I told you my terms, either you get a USD refund or the full GP amount. You chose the refund, as can be seen in the screenshots.


Everything that needs to be said is said, so let's keep it quiet until we get a response here.
