Runescape from scratch

This may sound fun and all, for some it may even be fun. But this games economy is too messed up for this. This works well and is very fun for games with good economies where a player can actually make money crafting his own armor rather than lose money.

 

You wouldn't be part of the economy, you don't use the GE and you don't trade with other players, alch price and general store price is always the same

 

In that case, it would depend on what you call fun. However, you still will be effected by the economy of the game.

How? do you mean competition wise? like if cow hides suddenly went 900gp each there would be overcrowding?

 

Hmm... I stopped playing RuneScape a while again because I eventually grew bored of it, but this sounds like a fun thing to do... I guess I'll give it a go and see how far I can get.

 

There was a guy on Zybez who got (or nearly got?) 99 RC by mining his own essence... That is the craziest I've ever seen.

Yah, but doing all the lumby tasks can get you like 200k

This may be fun up to a certain point, but eventually you're gonna go mad trying to get some items, for example: amulet of fury, any items that require boss kills, etc.

 

Wow this is fun, you guys should try, been playing RS for 5 hours straight now, first time I've played this long in years

Haha, the same thing happened with me! Haven't played for quite a while and found myself playing for hours earlier. It's definitely more enjoyable.

Implying that playing RuneScape in general isn't a waste of your life.

 

I'de Love to try this and i think it would be fun but i can already see myself cracking and using the Grand exchange haha If anyone has started doing this please post in the progress logs section of the game, ide love to see the progress your making!

The post that you guys thought was fake actually wasn't. His name is itam and is the current #1 DIY in the game, 100% purist.

There's actually quite a few, including myself which I'm hoping to hit the #3 highest DIY by end of this month (This is only from DIYs which are known, usually pretty public).

I have already hit 1700+ total the other day, never traded minus for heros / shield of arrav, never used ge to buy or sell. It's a very fun way of playing, actually have had more fun doing this than any time since classic, you guys should give it a try.

 

Actually metalmaniac9 is #1 DIY is what I thought

 

Metalmaniac is not a diy, he just does alot of things on his own. He still purchases his armour, buys/sells from ge, etc. He is still one impressive SOB though lol.

The general rulebook for a pure DIY tends to be :

Never trade players
Never use GE (Buy or Sell)
Never participate in multiplayer minigames unless you can solo it (So no PC, SC, etc).
All dungeoneering is solo

Plus some other things, but you get the idea. Basically you only do things you could do with 0 other players on your world.

Metal is still one of the most impressive RS accounts I have seen though.

 

Go to utube and type godsword challenge. Group of players trying to complete godswords without player interaction
