Runescape from scratch

Has anyone ever made a new account and not interacted with players trading-wise at all? like make your own armor and weapons or buy from shops but not trade or use the grand exchange, would/has it be fun to do?

It is hard but it's nice telling people "Hey, everything on this account is done from scratch. Every log ever burned, cut, etc, has been done by me." It's more of a fun type thing but only if you're SUPER into skilling, etc.

 

There was a thread on Sythe or PowerBot a long time ago where the guy posted pictures of his account bank and stats and claimed he had never interacted with players or the Grand Exchange at all. But, it was hard to believe due to having so many logs and like...Dragon Platebodies and shit...

Anyways, in my opinion, I think it's impossible. You'll use it sometime.

You would have to be extremely dedicated to actually go through with this. I think most people would crack at some point or another..

When I first started playing back in RSC I didn't interact with players too much at the start other than to chat. I made most of my own bronze armour and got all my first skills up collect supplies and resources by self. As you get higher level though and need more exp and supplies, and it gets harder to buy things you need from shops, I eventually realized that trading with other players was the shit lol.

 

This is a way to actually enjoy runescape, it gives you more sense of realism and is quite a challenge. I tried it once and got bored, but thats just me. A lot of people seem to have fun with it.

 

Seems like fun if you're willing to spend the time. I know a lot of people who Do-It-Yourself for all of their items.

 

But just think... No rares. =[ those are my favorite things. I have tried and failed. Idk just got ridiculous. Takes hella long cuz you would have to keep stopping and get mining up then smithing up then get the armor you need.

 

It would be possible but it would be 100 times harder and take a long time. Especially if you want to get items yourself like for whips you need 85 slayer etc.

This seems VERY hard and time consuming, but it's a neat idea. I saw a DIY thread on the Runescape forums that is quite popular. Seeing posts like this makes me want to make an account and try the same thing. So many people nowadays just buy money, buy stats, bot, scam, and other things. Playing the game DIY-style seems to me like you're playing the game the way it was meant to be played -- for fun. I know crazy right? Playing a game for fun? lol

 

99 smithing and very high mining just to wear a full rune would be Ewww!
but that's a good idea if you're really dedicated.

 

BotScape doesn't exactly motivate people to play legit. But realistically the game runs on an economy which allows players to advance by selling resources generally from specialising in a particular trade/skill.

OT: I'd think you would go mad after a short while based on how hard it is to be self sufficient.

 

I think if you DIY, you can buy things from NPC's in shops, just not from other players or the Grand Exchange.

 

It would take a while to get to the point where you could do PvM or PvP lol

 

I've decided to make an account like this, totally legit non-botted and I'm doing well, it feels just like when I started the game

Sometimes you do have to make your own armour, like, its really hard to find iron chain bodys in the g.e
