Unfortunately I do not support this concept, although I wouldn't mind seeing it happen, if ever.

This is simply because Sythe is known majorly as a black market, not for botting.

Anyway, there's already a Scar section which I personally think is enough.

+1, Sythe is known best for its market and that is why people come here. It maintains a sense of community. I think if Sythe has it's own bots, the community would become very lacking and defeat the (initial) intention of this website?

I think staying clear from the program aspect of things allows the website to lack in bias and give people some peace of mind knowing that there are no ill intention behind the scenes due to rival websites and revenue generation.

I certainly wouldn't use a website/forum if I knew a major part of it was designated to software which could potentially become malicious due to rare circumstances.

No support at all. There's no reason to put out a bot. I believe it'd completely fail as well. Sythe's the biggest black market, hands down. We'll stay in that position as well.

We also wouldn't be able to compete with rsbuddy or nexus.

I doubt people would freely put time into making a bot and keeping it updated so they would have to sell it or receive some kind of payment from Sythe.

It could be costly and whoever did would need to be pretty trusted and have been around for a decent amount of time.

I'm not really in favor of this as this isn't what Sythe is all about.

Support! Sythe would get more cash from it too. Sythe can sell scripts to it a lit cheaper than others :p

Not at all supporting, many news would come, and ask for freebies
+ many hackers would aim at hacking it?

RuneScape which is the biggest black market probably over the whole Internet is getting ruined and becoming fucked up with item prices, the amount of ingame gp and economy this is due to botters, I have never used a bot that gains experience/money/anything else.
What is the point in a goal when you haven't achieved it? To show off a skill you DIDN'T GET?
I have used a auto-typer like most people have as its not damaging RuneScape in the short or long term...
I hate people who bot and ruin RuneScape. -.-

You do realize when someone buys or sells runescape gold it perpetuates the botting community?

It's kind of ironic how this was a mainly botting site when Sythe used it to sell his self made bots, then it turned into a black market, now people what it to be a botting site.

It is a good idea, but the bots have to be unique and pretty much flawless to give it a chance of succeeding.

No point making a mining bot and such when there are perfect ones out there already.

I might sound pessimistic, but I really don't see this getting above "idea". Making a successful system is lots of work. Number of months if not years. Remember that the main purpose of RSBuddy is for botting, Sythe on the other hand isn't.

There are just a few sites that succeeded doing two things better than others. Google Wave -> sucked. Google Buzz -> Sucked.

I wouldn't mind see this happen, but i'm pretty sure this is never going to work out.
People would make Sythe account's to complain about their bot, it wouldn't really increase the activity of the community.

If the bot was paid, it wouldn't generate spam, it would be a nice source of revenue, it would bring a lot of marketers...

I can see this happening better if it was paid, cheap, but paid.

The vast majority of the community plays RS.
If you don't believe me, look at the activity in each section.

And I don't see how introducing a paid bot would make more scammers come here?
Is there some hidden link that I'm looking over? :S

Lemme just start off with mostly that a bot part to this community would be a terrible idea if not handled correctly...
Just to start ya off we would have more increase in retards trying to phish etc.
Then we would need a line of developers/coders to make a botclient and then write scripts. Therefore needing more dedicated people which alot of us I am sure have work/school/irl <-- what the hell is the last bit.... Anyways then you would need a customer support team as well as so much more bandwidth for the increased activity. Therefore it would take Richard and many other higher ranking sythe members to fully collaborate and discuss this. If you want easy scripts that you can write yourself try Autohotkeys. I used that and its undetectable as you sorta baby sit it. But if handled perfectly and taken the time by many Admins and Users could be great but don't expect it.

    TL;DR

    More cons than Pros

What is your reasoning behind this? We could have every script be checked by some trusted staff/user When I mean Phishers it would mean people sitting on forums trying to get emails from posts..If it were from the clients those are called RATS. Which are horrid if you get them.

We could host applications for positions to make the botclient. And the scripters themselves could be customer support. The extra money we would get from the paid scripts would easily pay for the increased bandwith.
A conflict of ownership could occur with the script writers with revenue issues thus leading to overall legal issues for sythe.

It wouldn't have to be done by Richard...
Something of this issue no doubt would have to be overlooked by Richard as its a big change.

And why would having a bot portion make them more common?

A bot would make it more common for scum to try and say heres a script I wrote etc. Again pure speculation
Just like Rsbuddy, Script writers could keep 50%, with the rest going towards the site
You are right but a lawyer would have to write these contracts up as, to ensure noone can get screwed in the long term= more costs
Overlooked =/= Done. Richard could keep an eye on things, but he wouldn't have to be the one coding the whole thing.
Right, but the fact that he would have to oversee the launch and start of this whole new aspect of sythe he may not have time for.

Again this is a double edged sword can be good or bad who knows. Just pure speculation
