Thoughts on botting?

COULD A MOD CHANGE THE TITLE TO "Thoughts on getting rid of the bots?". Tankies.



How would you feel if Jagex finally did something to permanantly get rid of ALL the bots? Like... They added some new macro detection system so advanced that you would get banned almost instantly just by logging in to a bot client.

I personally do bot, and with as many 99's as i've botted, there's no way I could go back to normal training at this point. However, it's not because i'm too lazy, it's just that EVERYONE else would have such a huge advantage over me that there's no point in training normally.

Even though I do bot, I would be EXTREMELY happy if they got rid of the bots, and would have no problem going back to training normally, as everyone would be on a level playing field, and finally giving back a sense of accomplishment back to runescape that I miss from the old days (not that i'm saying there weren't always bots, but it's nowhere near where it used to be).

So basically, how would YOU feel if they got rid of the bots? Of course this would destroy gold farming, but would definitely bring gold prices WAY up.

This question is kind of broad, so two answers would be nice.

1: How do you feel about getting rid of the bots, assuming it was never possible to sell GP, and this was just about being a game. The only thing you get out of it is that everyone is on a level playing field, and that runescape is back to how it was in the old days.

2: How would you feel about the bots being gone, assuming you sell GP?

 

I think the sense of acheievment would be huge, althought everyone who did bot would still be at huge advantages and barely anyone could catch up.
On my first account i use to think about one day having black d'hide legs and body whilst just having 61 range for a rune c'bow, now I have 99 range on my pure. I verse other pures with similiar stats and 80% of my friends bot.
I'd just prefer it if they did have an upgrade but also made huge multipliers so you could level up faster. Bots being gone, i honestly don't get affected by bots at all. I don't gold farm just train, it makes everything cheap which is good, so in that sense it would be bad..

 

1. i'd feel good. honestly, even though I bot. It could have been more fun.

2. Bots are gone, prices will be higher, ppl will have to buy more gold from me to get certain items.

 

I honestly think botting is crap and ruined the game immensely but since everyone is doing it their is real no benefit of doing it legit, i will just get further and further behind, i would prefer to do legit though if they could eventually get rid of bots which will most likely never happen

 

When I was writing this, I didn't think at all of how it would effect in the game economy lol. But now that I think about it, it's even more of a reason to get rid of the bots. Mabye things could finally be back to normal :[) *Looks off in to sunset with a tear in my eye*
