Runescape, the Infestation

I log on after selling 20B+ between Feb. 1st — Mar. 1st this year.

I come on free world and all I see is this.

[anotherasianl]: RS GOLD - ~~~ ect ect ect
[youalreadyno]: ~~~~~~~ GOLD FOR SALE ~~~~~~~~



this repeated 10 times a minute by about 15-20 bots, infested near [EDIT] THE WHOLE DAMN GAME.


Jagex doesn't do anything to eliminate these game killers and their horrible lifestyle and conditions

If you ask me, they may of went fully crooked and started selling GP themselves or are affiliated with them (conspiracy theory) but probably unlikely*

 

I don't think there is too much Jagex can do tbh.

 

Jagex doesn't care, it's owned mainly by investors.

 

I've seen several videos where Jmods clear out the worlds by all of these spammers but they literally are all back within 10 minutes. Jagex can't do anything to stop them. Ip's change to easily and with RSBuddy, there are scripts that make accounts for you and even do quests so if they just run it to create 500 accounts, then every time 1 gets banned, they just log in with another, remove the banned one from the list, and start the auto-typer again. Jagex can't win that battle.

 

Welcome back to RuneScape! Unfortunately, the economy and game itself has completely went to hell..

 

Its F2P man they dont really give a damn. There are just too many to keep up. They make hundreds of pre-made account just for their spam and advertisements.

 

Nice comment, I must agree, F2P is pretty much a "Testplay" for most folks, since they have an enormous chance of subscribing towards membership benefits. & it's mainly in cities and lumbridge, this could also possible have someone join Runescape longer and love it more. If they are at the age where they will actually read, understand & focus on how to play the game correctly then it will grow the community.

 

yep you go to any f2p world and there is 20 bots in both varrock bank and grand exchange, it ruins it tbh because its not the same community as no one goes there because of all the spam :x

 

There's only one thing Jagex can do, and you all know what it is.

 

How about this situation?

I logged into Sythe today after selling 20b of gold in Feb-March. I see people everywhere saying the same thing:

Person1: Runescape is dying
Person2: Jagex is corrupt
Person3: Bot farms are ruining the game


Honestly, it is what it is. I agree with most of what is being said, but I don't see a reason to complain about it. There is a huge incentive to bot, and Jagex knows it.

Although I understand your frustration... what can actually be done? They changed the tutorial and a new bot was made, they mass ban them, and they come back...

It's not like they have to pay for the accounts so they can just keep making them non-stop and turning on the auto-typer's.

When money can be made people will take advantage of every aspect.

 

Some things can be done:

-Ad bot detection (example, it auto-bans level 3's who say blacklisted websites)
-Bring back tutorial, there isn't one anymore
-Remove free trade and the wilderness

 

only way to get rid of them is ti start banning IPs etc etc

This to be honest. I agree that its very annoying, but there isnt alot that can be done.

 

Runescape will be dead within a year, the majority of legit players will of quit and it will only be bots left, Gold prices will of fallen to virtually nothing..
