N4no, the second gen i5's and i7's are insane OCers(the 2500k & 2600k) pretty much every chip hits 4.5ghz on air, I've seen them hit 5ghz stable on air.
+ a lot of other cpus can hit 4.2 pretty easy, just depends if you have a good ocing chip.

It would seem like it. Mine could prob oc more than what I have it now seeing as I've got a liquid cool system, but I'm not sure if I want to bother with it or not.

You should be able to get 4ghz pretty easy.
But the i7 875k is still pretty powerful(I got it's younger brother at stock and it's fine.)

edit: youll see in my previous pictures i had a internal liquid cooler, the corsair h70 which was a hunk of junk, bought the noctua nh d14 and im in love <3 58 on high loads at 4.6 :D

Im about to start working. Once I save up. Is an Alienware laptop worth getting over a mac? I really need fast speed. I only play Runescape. Everything else is a Youtube need and whatnot. What would you recommend.

    Thank you.

im against both brands. these laptops are a better deal than both choices and will play all games on high settings.

Yeah man, it's pretty nice tbh. 4.2 is a really really modest OC on these SB chips. With my H60, I could easily go to 4.5 no problem, but 4.2 is really all I need to not get bottlenecked on my CPU, so anything more is just bragging rights + more voltage running through my CPU, which in turn = shorter lifespan.

How are the frames on the 480 SLI? Can't wait to get my second one :D

If you solely play Runescape and use youtube, and sites of that sort, it really comes down to what you want. An alienware is ideal for gaming, and does run upwards of $1000 of course. A Mac runs of couse around the same price range. However from experience and comparison, I've found that Mac's are generally easier and smoother to run, multiple applications and things alike at once. However doing so can easily be done by an alienware too. Mac's are by far, as I see it more secure, and reliable, and just last longer than a PC. However as a gamer the biggest crutch a Mac has is its graphics card which, to get a comparable one you'd have to be looking at the higher end variations of Mac products. However if you are just going to play Runescpae and surf the internet, there's several cheaper and possibly better alternatives then a alienware, if you chose to go with windows. However, Mac is more purely a choice made for cosmetic purposes. In the end its up top you.

Thank you very much for that, Yeah an Alienware is a bit expensive. Im just looking for the fastest laptop that is also for Gaming, Youtubing, Browsing.
Macs however, run smoother, But many downloads aren't available for the Mac OS yet, Am I correct?

Don't waste your money on Alienware. Ever since Dell bought them out, they are pure shit. Please, for the love of god, don't waste your cash. ESPECIALLY if all you do is RS/YT. You're better off getting a decent asus off newegg or something along those lines.

Most programs can be downloaded for Mac OSX, or you could run Windows in Bootcamp for the select few that aren't. Macs are really nice computers, they will last you a long time and are great for things like audio/video production. They are NOT gaming friendly though. Very, very few games support Mac, and the ones that do are not very good to be perfectly honest. If all you're going to be doing is RuneScape, a Macbook will be great for you. If you want to start playing graphically demanding games like Crysis 2 or something, look elsewhere. Never ever buy Alienware (as said previously) because they charge a premium just for being Alienware. Tbh their look isn't even that unique and/or cool. They seem bulky lol. I'd much rather pay like $1200 or so for a Toshiba Qosmio, Sony Vaio, etc and get the same thing as I would from a $2000-$3000 Alienware laptop. Macs are in the same boat though. Spec for spec, you get far less bang for your buck by going with a Mac. The choice is yours.

Also, guys, I redid my desk and shit. Gonna post pics tomorrow. Too lazy atm and I've been procrastinating this English homework for far too long -_-

dont get a mac, macs r shitty, its either u love it or you hate it. i love windows so i would never get a mac. heres pros and cons to alienware:

    pros:

    looks cool
    has cool lights
    comes with nice specs

    cons:
    bad customer service
    overpirced to HELL!!
you get a shitty video card for the price u pay...

now, back to what i was gonna tell u, just get a gaming laptop by another brand, u get more ram, a better video card, a bigger screen, and a better hard drive. alienware is made to profit off suckers, my buddy has an alienware desktop and let me tell u it is a P.O.S!! they put two 20mm fans for ventilation inside of it, 20mm!! i got my haf x case for 180 dollars and it comes with 3 200mm fans, alienware has no custumization for their desktops, they run hot as hell because of the ventilation problems...anyways back on topic, alienware is overpriced eye candy. if you look at other gaming laptops you get more for what u pay for , minus l.e.ds and shiny colorful plastic parts..all up to you. if alienware was cheaper ( which it should be ) it would be cool, id buy one over a mac. but i still think getting a different gaming laptop is a better choice. the choice is yours young padawan lol.

I've never personally owned one, but I'd imagine that they probably don't overheat under normal usage parameters. There's not really a huge difference between what's under the hood of a Mac and a PC, so unless you get a defective product or are really rough/irresponsible with it, it should be fine. Also, in the little time that I've spent using my friend's Macbook and the Macbooks we were provided when I was in High School, I never noticed any unbearable noise. There's obviously some small fan noise but nothing compared to even some of the more 'silent' desktop PCs.
