Mod Mat K Comments on RuneScape's State

Nice that a mod finally talks back. But as said before, it took too much to get such an explanation.
What I read is that there won't change anything, and that they won't apologise for that.

Also, I get the opinion that the comments they don't like are still too easily put aside, like he said as trolling comments or with the motivation 'what would they know about it'.
This is true in some cases but what Jagex needs is just better communication.
There has never been need of that but now they need it, together with a better bond with their player base.

 

This was an interesting read and upon reading it I believed it, I've not read many prev posts about stuff like this so I don't know if it's what they all say but it was very detailed and it looks like they're trying to be as honest as possible. If it's not true then fml but I hope it is. Nevertheless I enjoyed reading that.

People see that as Jagex being extremely greedy and caring more about money than the game/community/players.

 

just bring back the trade limit and the gold farmers will go bye bye.

They would never do that. They would think that by doing this, it shows them they are weak, though they already are weak.

Interesting. I think it had some truths, and those things that they weren't able to answer truthfully, they didn't and said they couldn't talk about it..yet. I don't believe they have some super reason for why they aren't telling us things besides what they always say about not telling us because it would inform the bot creators what they are doing and give them time to counter act it, which is probably true.

I think it is time they be more honest and let their players know they have no amazing detection system for bots, it is so damn obvious and they have lied about it ever sense bots existed. The bots are more advanced then their systems and therefor they don't work.

I believe it is true that they want to get rid of bots, I have never believed that bots bring them more profit then if they didn't have bots. How many people don't play the game because of bots?

I think the thing about demoting the Forum mod was a lie, they probably don't have a reason other then the obvious. It is too coincidental otherwise, even if he did do other things wrong, the video played a big part in it or he wouldn't have been demoted at the time he did, too coincidental.

I really don't know what to think overall. I think they did it to hopefully quiet the uproar from players. I think it was pretty dumb that they felt they owe no apology and shows that they don't take responsibility for anything and are not "man" enough to admit to the fact that they can make mistakes.

Either way, I bot and don't really care. The RL income from it helps me out too much..

I think Jagex is lying again.. Jagex have the abilities to stop bots in a moment.. Once you open a bot using your computer, your IP is recorded as a botter. Yet, Jagex may take action few weeks, months or even years to ban you! They lose money by banning a botter, it's impossible!

 

Only if you get banned, and if you seen RuneScape these days are are too man bots to ban, even for Jagex.

If they don't ban bots, they lose more money than if they do ban them. Think about how all the legit player left RuneScape because of all the bots for a start.
