So I want to have wireless internet in my university res room but I have no clue about the stuff. So if I buy a wireless router how do I go about paying monthly to use the internet on it?

If you have an internet connection already, installing a router will not cost you anything monthly.

Well at home I am using this wireless router to connect to the internet, but can I just bring the router and set it up in university room and continue using the same internet there?

The wireless router has to be connected to the modem itself, so as long as the modem is in your room, I'd say yes.

All the router does is give you wireless access to the internet that it's plugged into. So when you plug it into the internet connection at home you get it wireless, when you plug it into the ethernet at school you get that wireless.

    In other terms,

Right now you have either a modem or you have a cable coming out of your wall otherwise known as an ethernet cable. It provides internet through laptop through LAN.

If you want a wireless, just buy a router and plug the ethernet cable into the router itself: there is a port for the ethernet cable. then you can connect to your wireless router.

Most university provide free wireless internet and make you agree to their terms and services. This is done by making you log in with a school id/password.

Even if you are given Ethernet ports in your room, creating your own wireless internet is usually a violation of terms and services. Therefore I'd use at your own risk.

If I were you I'd bring a cat-5 (ethernet) cable for a wired connection when you're not wireless. From my experience, wireless at universities can be unreliable and often gets terribly slow during peak hours.

    I would not recommend cat-5 but either cat-5e, cat-6

Dude it doesn't matter if its 5e or 6, those speeds don't make a huge difference when you don't know what your looking for, if the router can only handle so much data and bandwidth then they are not important unless you are doing serious routing with like cisco 2600 series and up switching and routing. Just get the basic ethernet cable that you can afford, you don't need a long one but I would really figure out where you would need to put the router and where the modem is at, and you might not even be allowed to use the router there for security reasons on campus and that you might need to talk to a IT at the university. Some university's already provide these things, but see I don't know the exact situation you're in so I can't be one to assume.
