The Zombie Survival Game

How to Play:​

Read the following scenario and complete the task. Next week, this thread will be updated with a new scenario, and you may gain time or lose time, depending on what you choose to carry with you today.

A zombie apocalypse is neigh and you must make a journey to a survivor's colony in the Canadian Yukon territory. You know it's a 40 day trek to the colony on foot from your hometown of Greenville, NC, with other possible transportation methods available along the way. You yourself are only capable of carrying 60 pounds of supplies, and you must bring the essentials to keep you and your pregnant wife alive at best. Your wife can carry up to 20 pounds, but she's unhealthy as it is. It would be risky for you to load any more weight onto her, but she insists if you think it's necessary. If you leave within one hour, you will have one week's lead ahead of the impending arrival of the horde of zombies. Every extra hour you spend preparing to leave is half a day's lead, lost [because I said so].

Choose equipment to fill your survival kit. Keep in mind that the zombifying epidemic is viral, and no food, water, or air supply is guaranteed to be uncontaminated. However, you figure since you're not already a zombie that it hasn't infected a large portion of the world just yet. Also note that clothing will not play a direct factor in this simulation.

You are given a scenario above. This is a game, stop interjecting stupid things.

By the way, good luck with that. Every single person in the history of "zombie apocalypse" games has said that exact same thing.

20 bucks says that within 5 hours of the word "zombie" hitting anywhere in the world, all the gun and surplus stores will be wiped clean, blood spilled because of fights over guns.

 

Mohtasa, do you really think it's going to take a week to get the next update to this game?

 

No I already have 10 updates in advanced with positive, negative and neutral implications according to thethings people have chosen, and those will come faster, maybe daily. But I'm giving everyone a week to enter the game since there can't be people coming in after the new scenarios are released

Now that's interesting, you're the first to not even take the car or wagon (there's only 3 of us but still). Although it seems like you're lacking a bit in the food department. Are you gonna rambo your way to the colony?

 

All alterations to your list within the first week are allowed. However, I'm prohibiting discussion on what materials are best to take (on this thread anyway, can't stop you by other means) to avoid everyone ending up taking the same set of supplies

Why does the dog not reduce weight? a dog can walk for itself and you can have it carry stuff for you so it should reduce weight at least 10-20 pounds

 

Do you own a dog? If so, go try to lash a 20 pound sack to it's back. Then you'll know why it doesn't offer reduced weight penalties.

I suppose this means we can't say why we picked "x" or "y". Fair enough. I can't wait to see the next round.

 

Realistically wouldn't it be smarter to fix up the car and go 3 days late? Because in that amount of time you would spend walking, you would be able to make up that time in about 8 hours?

Question: I don't know if the car will run out of gas or if I unable to acquire any along the way, but am I able to switch out anything I place in the car with the stuff I carry with me?
